Four players could be in the press box at a time then.

Can we dress him just for the shootout?

Welcome Back, Brad (see a 1st rounder paid off)

Now we have a line of PTOs

This guy has never won anywhere. He's been let go of teams that end up winning more without him. Definition of perimeter player. Good hands. Basically, a ********, ancient Phil Kessel. Not a fan.

Phil Kessel: hated by hfboards
Brad Boyes: inexplicable happiness over PTO

Sometimes this place makes absolutely no goddamned ****ing sense.

Another PTO, so many players competing for spots, I feel like the more that come in the less likely it is one of our young prospects will have a chance to make it (not that I think that's a bad thing this year).

So 12 forward spots not counting extras. Players who probably are assured of a spot:

1) JVR
2) Bozak
3) Lupul
4) Kadri
5) Komarov
6) Winnik
7) Holland

Competition for the remaining 5 + extras:

1) Panik
2) Beck
3) Arcobello
4) Parenteau
5) Spaling
6) Matthias
7) Bailey
8) Leivo
9) Carrick
10) Setoguchi
11) Glencross
12) Boyes
13) Frattin

With long shots:

14) Marner
15) Kapanen
16) Brown
17) Gauthier
18) Nylander

Am I missing any likely players?

Boyes was still good last year. I was pretty bitter when he was bought out. Supposedly it was to make way for the young players. But then we gave a PTO to Booth. :help:

I would much rather have Boyes next year than Booth.

And yeah, you can probably flip him for a mid round pick at the trade deadline.

It's called changing the culture of the big team before bringing in younger players. As Ferraro said the other day on Leafs Lunch, some of these guys have no idea what they are in for. I think we might have a few surprises ahead of us about which players sink, and which swim under Babcock.

Feel sorry for Kadri bc Boyes will be the 1C for the Leafs and will be gone by TDL for a late 1st rounder.

Boyes has been sinking for a while now and was bought out by the Panthers!

Good sign that we're getting other bottom-feeding teams' cast-aways.

Weird because Boyes is a RW not a C…. if anything Kadri is happy because Boyes could be his new winger on the 1st line, as an upgrade over Parenteau

Not that it matters, but for the record Boyes was drafted as a center by the Leafs. I know he is listed extensively as a winger now, but he does have some Center pedigree....

It's going to be ridiculous. Probably Panik, Parenteau, Matthias, Glencross for the next four spots. For that last spot, it could be between Boyes, Spaling, Leivo, Arcobello, and Beck with the outsiders in the pressbox/minors.......... If Nylander or Marner steal a spot, they've going to have to be dominant.

I like it. Boyes is coming home, and he can still play. He should get enough ice time on this team to put up decent numbers.

While not the greatest player, I do like the fact that the team is bringing in a lot of veteran guys who absolutely have to prove something in order to continue their careers in the NHL.

Soshnikov, Hyman, Clune could all be considered long shots too.

For the five remaining spots, I'm guessing that Parenteau and Matthias are locks to make the team. Panik, Spaling, Glencross, Boyes, Setoguchi, Beck, and Arcobello will likely battle it out for the remaining 3 spots.
