I wonder if this is management's way of gauging the possibility of a Lucic replacement when his contract expires next summer?

Either way, I like the signing and I'm looking forward to watching him run people over in the PVD, assuming Cassidy give him ice time.

If he turns into a 4th line grinder, I will be more than thrilled.

We got some big kids in the system now. Good signing.

Everything I've read suggests he's come a long way since being drafted. Nice to have him officially in the fold.

He's a Texan too.

Fantastic! A big body that can get in on the forecheck and turn some pucks over! Hard to say what we have here yet --not sure what his pro game confidence will look like a year from now, but he has the tools.

Given the Bruins spotty draft history, the sixth and seventh rounders stand a better chance of making to the NHL than the first and second rounders.

Yes replacing Lucic with a kid that might not even make the NHL.

Depth is never a bad thing. I like his skillset. You never know with guys like him, you could find a gem.

Could we not turn this into another Paille/Campbell discussion? It really isn't relevant since he's very likely reporting to Providence and at least a year away.

A Lucic replacement? Cmon... Lucic is having a down year, like the rest of the Bruins. But at the same age that Hargrove is now, Looch was scoring 30 goals in the NHL. He is FAR from being a replacement, for anybody really. He's a prospect with some interesting potential, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Unfortunately, college hockey isn't a big thing here in VA, so I don't get to hear or see much happen in that circle of sports, (Aside from my college's team, Liberty, which I hear about from a friend still at the school) but I love what I'm hearing about this guy right now.

This team could use some real physicality on this team, aside from Looch, McQuaid, Kelly, and Talbot. I don't know if there's ever a chance this team will get back to the physical way they played in 2011, but acquiring guys like Colton will certainly get this team pushed in that direction.

Let's pump the breaks on Hargrove. He plays a good style of hockey and if everything breaks right he might be a 4th line fit, but as of right now he is just another college player who had a good year as an upperclassmen. There are a lot of those and very few become successful nhlers. Hope he's one of them, but I'm not penciling him in for a future 4th line role until I see how he does after a year or 2 in providence

Lucic replacement?

Holy crap, now I'm embarrassed for responding to you with the Declaration of Independence in the other thread. Seriously, Chia and this FO should get jobs for life if 29 other teams missed out on a Milan Lucic replacement that fell to the last round.
