Anyone have a scouting report, either from Providence or from his junior days?

Edit: Found one from his junior days: here
Brady Lyle
Brady Lyle is a mobile, two-way defender with intriguing physical attributes and good hockey sense. He is at his best in possession Lyle possesses the skating abilities and puck skills necessary to allow him to be a versatile threat. Lyle see's the ice very well and can make a hard, accurate first pass with his feet moving up ice. However, he also displays the ability to weave his way up ice and maintain possession into the offensive zone before creating a play. Lyle would, however, benefit from making quicker decisions when he enters the offensive zone as he can skate himself out of high percentage areas. A strong skater with impressive edges and four-way mobility, Lyle's feet allow him to elude forecheckers and create space to make plays. With slightly above average speed and a fairly good first step, Lyle can thrive in possession. In the offensive zone, Lyle's vision and passing skills allow him to create from his blue line position, while his feet often allow him to open shooting lanes, allowing him to release a powerful and accurate point shot. Brady defends well in transition, utilizing his mobility to contain, before poking pucks free with an active stick. Brady projects as a two-way defenseman with pretty good size and puck rushing ability. He needs to continue to get stronger and improve his ability to battle along the wall, playing a meaner, tougher game in general which would make him tougher for opponents to play against. He has good offensive tools for the next level.

One thing I can say is that the Bruins have done a good job bringing up defensemen, so could be a sleeper move a few seasons down the road.

A report on him:

Lyle is a defender coaches can send over the boards in any situation. He can quarterback the powerplay, kill penalties, match up against the opposition’s best players, and in the last minute of a one goal game, is the first D over the boards whether you’re protecting a one goal lead, or are trying to tie it up. He has a howitzer of a shot from the point that usually finds the target. It’s a heavy shot and when he puts it on target, is difficult for goaltenders to contain, creating second chance opportunities.

At 6’3” Lyle has good size, but he doesn’t lack mobility. He uses that size effectively, relishes the physical game and always comes to the aid of his teammates.

Fellow 3 Amigo Reed Duthie had this to say:
Played in every big situation, quarterbacked the power-play and was the shutdown PK force as well. At 6’3” 210, Lyle has the size to immediately step into the professional level and make an impact but combines his size with advanced mobility & hockey IQ. A leader who will stand up for his teammates, Lyle brings a nasty attitude to the defensive zone and has no issue throwing the body. Clearly has the potential to work his way to the NHL with time.

I like it that he can score, as well, rather than just being a stay-at-home d-man.

Good for Brady, give him another year or so in Providence, and he might be ready to compete for a spot. Always important to have a steady line of young players who can contribute

@BruinsNetwork might have mentioned him once or twice in passing ,maybe he'll chime in

Lyle is a good all-situation defender, capable of locking it down in a shutdown role or two-way role. Though he's not a speedster, you'd probably not even notice how big he is because he's got solid mobility and moves with purpose. He's a bit inefficient, rough around the ledges at times, but he just keeps showing up, climbing over the boards and putting the puck in the net.

I like Lyle, though I still maintain that his competition is giving him more space, time than needed because of his sheer size. That's not a knock against him, but a knock against the shoddy competition Providence has routinely been facing. Regardless, he's been consistently getting better at each level he's played in and he's used in many different situations for Leach. Boston's RHD depth is wearing thin, given Clifton is more liable than he is stable and Miller, Carlo are still on the shelf. This is a good signing and he could even get a look sooner than later.

I've seen folks in the Providence Bruins thread hype this dude up. Never hurts to have depth. Nice that management likes his play enough to warrant an NHL deal, and we all know Don and Co know how to scout and develop defensemen.

Only problem is he wears 37!
