Got ya. I was looking for a similar stat recently and probably landed on the same site. They had undefeated from start of season, and winning streak from start. Wasn't sure what the difference was.

Before 05-06 you could tie, so that’s part of it.

Not sure if the NHL would count OTLs in an “undefeated” streak or not.
