im surprised boston wants to sign him in all honesty
When you see this... why wouldnt the Bruins want to?
Bruins these days going after these tall, mobile, with some offensive flair prospect Ds
James Greenway 6'5" D
With hard work nothing is impossible. If you’re hungry enough you can succeed at anything.Project pick.
The Bruins system does a good job of developing dmen into NHL ( or potential NHL ) starters. We'll see how he progresses. Former teammate of Jeremy Swayman and Eduard Tralmaks, both in the Bruins organization.
because of the lack of progression in the 5 years since
No different than any other year wait until trade deadline to build your team.............Boom, Sweeney is done until the trade deadline. Roster complete.
Your AHL team?
Bruins board is hilarious. Guys look at PIMs and height and pencil him in bottom pair NHL. He’s likely a bottom pair AHL D right now at best. Wasn’t even a top 20 prospect on Leaf board rankings.
The Leafs haven't even had him in the system, at all. There hasn't been any expectations. There isn't some magic pixie dust you put on a prospect because they're now a Bruin.Depends on fit/system also
Leafs expect xyz
Bruins might tone it down and just concentrate on basics/third pair duties. After a while, expand game

Now pull up highlights from the last 5 seasons.
He can still walk in August.Dont be mad Leafs gave up
Bruins are not. Its for consideration. Could be for anything small.
I can't imagine they're dead set on signing a contract anyway. This allows them earlier negotiation to get him to sign with Providence and is a sign of good faith, they are interested enough in him to trade for his NHL rightsHe can still walk in August.

Didn't know about any personal problems. But yes, another bust from Mark Hunter. They focused on some overagers and size a bit in those years, and the results have been disastrous.
He will be an body for the Providence Bruins basically and this is your last shot kid before going to play pro in Mongolia. Minor league deal, probably a return favour for switching 7th round picks last year.
You may think that, but a simple Google search will set you straight:I remember when Greenway was all but untouchable in Minnesota. How times have changed.
