Liljegren has 2 PP points on the season and hasn’t proven to be especially adept or dynamic in the little time he’s received. And I’m not even referencing the islanders game screw up.

I’m not opposed to him getting more PP time for developmental purposes at all but I don’t think it’s automatic or that he’s really earned a shot.
I get what you are saying, but I'd be more interested in team results, while a D man is out there, not how many points he's put up.

Tim is top 100 in PP Goals For/60 for D men. He's around the same team production as guys like Carlson, Weegar, Barrie and Hanifin. He has the third best results on the team, behind Morgan and Klingberg.

That's not unfair; he had a rough game vs. WPG as well.

But I do think as you look at what's available on D right now, there's little doubt to me, at least, that he should be the guy they lean on most now that Rielly isn't there.

I think it’s a little overstated pointing to Liljegren and making a link to our power play prowess since he’s making the 5th or 4th last touch of the puck every time it goes in and who he’s actually playing with.

Again, I’m not opposed to putting him in there for developmental purposes ahead of McCabe, but on merit the guy has done nothing on special teams.

I’m not opposed to giving Lily more reps and opportunities but he doesn’t seem like a guy who is chomping at the bit to take on a more prime role. Just the same milquetoast non defensive specialist non offensive contributor this organization churns out.
Maybe Keefe is worried about another shorthanded breakaway goal, he did rip Lilly a new one after that goal…..

Hoping Brodie and Liljegren work well together. That way when we get a defenceman to play with Rielly you have two other pretty solid pairings of Brodie - Liljegren and Benoit - McCabe.

Vancouver
Brodie - Liljegren
Benoit - McCabe
Giordano - Lagesson

McCabe on PP1 too.

Until Rielly gets back, our already bad D are gonna be legit terrible. Gonna need max effort from the forwards, like top notch team D.

I actually thing the team might be capable of rallying around the weak blueline, defending well as a team, at least for a short stretch. But if they can’t, it’s gonna get ugly.

I agree with the sentiment of what Reaves was saying. He probably didn't say it the way people want to hear it, but what I heard was that people need to be held accountable for their actions.

You show boat or decide to be classless, someone is coming for you. You stick a guy behind the play, someone is coming for you. If the league and officials will not police the game to the players code, they will, and they should. On the flip side, if you cross the line in your payback, you too will have to pay the price be that on the ice or from the league.

I am not advocating for cross-checking anyone in the head, but, a lot of guys who pull moves like that will not stand up for themselves when challenged. They will turtle. So, because of that the offended players have to approach things a little differently since they will rarely be offered a face to face settling of the matter.

I have always felt "if you give it you have to be able to take it" is the way to be. So, if you are going to take a cheap shot of whatever, but are not willing to stand up to the challenge, f*** off and continue to be the loser bitch you really are. Nothing worse than a fake tough guy... nothing.

I think Kipper nailed it, and I rarely think he’s right……..

He's frustrated at the lack of pride. He hate the Dubas estrogen left over.

Same reason why RoR and Schenn wanted to high tail it outta here. The men sensed the pansy culture.

Our Core 4 all same type of soft forwards.

We can have 2 of em. Not 3 definitely not 4.

JT being so emotionless is a detriment rn
Morgan needs to be our C

Looking back, I can't believe Hunter took Lily when Thomas from his Knights was there at #17.

Binner's numbers look great.
I wouldn't have expected the Leafs to have made the playoffs while also being able to draft Liljegren because, IIRC, the projection for him was to be selected prior to our spot (#17). I'm not sure if Thomas was similarly touted as a prospect?

The one thing I don't mind seeing with Rielly gone is a new face on the PP. I don't think there is any question it is Lilly on this roster.. I suppose I hope Niemela is ultimately groomed for this. I felt Sandin was a PP upgrade on Rielly...

Save him for what we really need... his skating game 5 on 5. Joining rushes, keeping pucks alive, getting pucks out with his legs.
