It seems very strange that Del Zotto has been with so many teams in his career. If a guy is good enough to stay in the league, but gets moved a lot, you get the feeling that he annoys coaches or management to the point that they want him gone.
He teas s with his tools. Good skater, size, seems to have ability but never put it together. Not sure if he lacks hockey sense or not a hard enough worker or what, but he will obviously never live up to his draft pedigree at this point. He is just a marginal guy who teases more. As an extra defenseman who can fill in for injuries or whatnot, he is fine. And that is his role here.

Mdz is offensive dman who just doesn't have high hockey, thus he is good on the rush and such but when game slows down he simply doesn't see the plays to be made. Same in dzone where he gets routinly out of position, gets caught chasing the puck and losing composure.
