Is Drabek in camp? I haven't heard anything about him as of yet. Has he been in any games?

IIRC he pitched in the first TV game last Tuesday.

according to his player page on the Jays site, he's pitched 2 innings this spring, given up 2 hits (1HR) for 1 run. Batters hitting .222 off him 1.50 WHIP.

what's a jib?

Also, is the poop deck really what I think it is?

Promote that man at once!

(Have we made it through a thread without this yet?)

Thanks Nem. The sad thing is I watched a good bit of that game. Missed him though obviously

I remember Drabek coming into a game a couple days ago as well, but it seems like you've already deduced he's had 2 outings so carry on :)

Also Osuna came out for a 2nd inning today which I didn't expect would happen whcih is why I posted about his clean inning. Had a good 2nd inning as well. Really impressed with him.

According to Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers are interested in acquiring Dioner Navarro from the Toronto Blue Jays.

http://www.torontosun.com/2015/03/09/ti ... says-agent

LAKELAND, FLA. - There is a market for Dioner Navarro.

The Arizona Diamondbacks for one team.

And the Detroit Tigers for two.

“My agent (Melvin Roman) told me both Arizona and Detroit have interest,†Navarro said Monday morning in the visiting clubhouse at Joker Marchant Stadium before the Jays lost to the Tigers.

What does Arizona have to offer? Well, does a rebuilding team need a closer like Addison Reed, who earns $4.875 million US this year?

Reed, 26, avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a one-year deal (he requested $5.6 million, while the club made a $4.7 -million offer).

In his first year with Arizona after three seasons with the Chicago White Sox, Reed was 1-7 with a 4.25 ERA. He walked 15 and struck out 69 in 591/3 innings.

On the closing end he saved 32 of 38 chances (84%) and allowed 11 homers. As a point of reference departed closer Casey Janssen closed out 25 of 30 opportunities (83%).

Navarro for Reed probably won’t get the deal done.

Reliever Brad Ziegler, 36, earns $5 million this season after going 5-3, with a 3.49 ERA. He appeared in 68 games, walking 24 and striking out 54 in 67 innings.

Everyone in baseball knows that the Jays need relief help ... just as everyone knows the Diamondbacks need someone to go behind the plate.

“I want to play every day,†Navarro said. “I don’t want to be a back-up. I know I can help this team.â€

Navarro still may get the chance.

Don't want any part of Reed as the only piece coming back for Navarro. Would rather get Randall Delgado.

I don't know if the Tigers are a good fit, with their ongoing bullpen issues.

Sounds like Navarro is quoting something his agent told him weeks ago, and Bob Elliot is looking up and down each teams roster making connections on team needs. An exercise we performed in this forum two months ago.

I highly doubt Dioner gets traded until somebody loses a catcher to injury. Could be next week, could be July. A half baked article from the Sun is not going make me think there's suddenly something in the works.

Maybe they'd fill our hole at 2B?

Navarro for Kinsler? No, I guess we'd have to add. We could send them up and comer Devon Travis. But to even it out maybe Anthony Gose would be a good fourth outfielder until Saunders returns.

In all seriousness, I don't think the return for Navarro is going to be anything amazing. But hopefully I'm wrong.

No one should expect an amazing return for Navarro. What would be good/expected return is a quality bullpen arm. Not the big name closer guy but a solid relief pitcher. That's not huge value in baseball but something we could use more of

Hey guys, some of you must know, but who is a good person to follow on twitter for ST updates? As most of the games aren't on TV, is there someone who basically live tweets during the games?

Bautista hitting .250? Kurt Warner circa 2004, cut him and let him carry another team to a (near) WS win in a few years :sarcasm:

2 games catching Dickey for Martin. 6 IP total. No passed balls/errors. Good sign knock on wood.

#BlueJays announce a "significant announcement" is coming in approximately 10 minutes.

This doesn't sound good.

Hopefully Navarro trade and not an injury.
