I'll do a full write up later but for those watching the full game I was the one with the red jersey with a boy with a red jersey getting autographs after the game :yo:

No way Joe and Nemesis have assured me this guy is Golden with the glove not to mention the arm.

The problem is really arm not glove
Lets see how long until Lawrie gets injured
150 games of Josh>90 games of inconsistent Lawrie
Jays making nice moves, I like it!

Jays don't get good players -> "Why are the jays getting all these scrubs?"

Jays get good players -> "Why are the Jays acquiring players who make occasional throwing errors?"

Jays acquire a player with injury history -> Why get him, he's going to be hurt before long"

Jays trade away a player with injury history -> "What are they trading him away for?"

Haha precisely.

Last off season I criticized the team quite a bit by not doing anything. However, this off season was really good. Got one of the best, if not the best 3B in the league. Also got one of the better defensive catchers in the league who can also hit well.

The only thing I didn't like about this off season was not getting at least one or two BP arms. Having said that, guys could emerge or they could easily be acquired. Would have liked a 2B but hopefully Travis or Izturis does a decent job.

you're right, I never mentioned the arm. and if DJQ did, he almost certainly would've noted that it is sometimes a question mark.

Stop trying to manufacture drama.

He is gold with the glove. The guy has great range and an amazing bat. His arm isn't the best. Listen, I loved Lawrie, until Christmas his jersey was the only one I owned. But he's not close to Donaldson even if he were healthy and that's a big if.

Well I post my experience every year so why stop now?

This game was planned for a couple weeks once we heard it would be on TV. My kid (who's 4, almost 5) wanted to see if he could get on TV so had to do it. Was a rowdy hour and a half ride to Dunedin as he was pretty excited.

Got there a little after 12. Went to the Jays shop, bought a few things and went to stand at the fence in Right Field doing our typical autograph hunting that we do every year. To him every autograph is the same (okay, not every, he'd scream if it was Edwin ). Tim Raines (I think it was) came by to sign autographs, so he thought that was cool. Pompey acknowledged us and when asked to sign my kids ball he said if I sign one I gotta sign em all and took off. Ah well.

You really never truly appreciate the game unless you are there live. They make it look easy on TV. That grab at second was a thing of beauty.

Got into a bit of a heated exchange with another fan during the third inning. That was fun. We were sitting in the front couple seats, the ones right by the fence (I think they are typically just handicapped seats but were told we could so he could sit closer) and my kid stood up to watch some of it. A fan came over, cursing, telling me he can't see and how he paid for his tickets. Told him I paid for mine too and me sitting is taller than him standing and that next time don't come over aggressively if you want me to move. Told him I'll continue sitting here and if he didn't like it get an usher. So he did  it's tough getting a 4 year old to sit for 3 hours. Originally we were told it's fine then in the 4th another usher told us to move. Long story short, they listened to my argument and said as long as we (me and my wife) aren't standing there isn't a problem. By the 6th inning there was MANY people lined up at the fence standing blocking that guys view so I watched him leave

Back to the game. Got a picture of Bautista running to RF pointing directly at my kid who yelled to him as he went to RF. He loved that.

Alcohol you could tell was a factor by the 7th inning. Fans began getting really annoying. Yelling the dumbest things you could think of.

Then the game ended in disappointment but we decided to wait around for players leaving. Got a couple who I have yet to identify (lol), Smith Jr. and Travis. You could see me on TV talking to Jr after the game while he signed the ball. Travis was pretty good to talk to. Ran by us and I yelled "hey you forgot one!". He looks over at my kid and says aw sorry dude you're so small I didn't see you. Made small talk and he took off.

I also talked to another usher who told me next time we're down my kid can run on the field to take the base. Gave me his card and said to ask for him. We plan on going later this month.

All in all, it proves once again, nothing beats going to a ball game on a day like today.

Imagine a catcher, playing in his third season at 3B, having seventeen throwing errors. You're right, he's a bum. I want my 70 games of Brett Lawrie back. I want my Barreto back.

If we had a real GM, he would have ignored the 150 games played, 328 assists (1st), 131 put outs (2nd), 43 double plays started (1st), 482 total chances (1st) and 3.13 range factor (2nd). He would ignore hippie metrics like UZR (15.5 - 2nd), RZr (.770 - 1st) and RngR (14.5 - 2nd).

Throwing errors! From a catcher, in his third season at 3rd base. Where does AA get off!!!! Derpa der!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I love it when you call me Joe.

split squad today. Stro and Norris pitching. 4 K's in the first innings combined. 2 each. Stro allowed a single but Martin gunned down the steal attempt.

touch of a rough inning for both Norris and Stro in the 3rd, Stro was able to get a double play and his relief pitcher got out of the rest with no runs. No such luck for Norris giving up 2.

Osuna just threw a clean inning :)

Bautista went deep for his first of the spring.

That's some thing the Jays could improve on, Manufacturing Runs it can be the difference between winning and losing in close ball games.

Lost both games. 6-4 to the Tigers and 1-0 to the Astros. Of course, I am surprised Fausto Carmona is still in the league (got credit for the Astro win).

Looks like Rafael Soriano is having trouble finding someone who will meet his asking price. If it comes down, he could be a good option considering his AL East track record.

So the Jays traded one former C turned 3B for another one? What kind of sorcery is Alex Andropolopolous trying to pull.

How would our bullpen look with the 2 flamethrowers; Osuna and Castro in the pen to start the season.

Starting Rotation:
Dickey
Stroman
Hutchison
Burhele
Sanchez

Norris to Buff (inj call up)

Bullpen:
- Drabek (long relief)
- Delabar (7 relief)
- Castro (7 relief)
- Osuna (7/8 relief)
- Estrada (7/8 relief)
- Loup (lefty specialist)
- Cecil (CP)

I'd rather not have either stick with the club, especially Osuna. You're forgetting Redmond, who would be in there before Drabek, as would Jenkins I think.

Sure to both, with Castro being more likely than Osuna. That being said, I highly doubt either breaks camp with the big club, and would more likely join in August.

And don't forget Hoffman, who could also factor into the bullpen come late August. Not likely, but a similar possibility to Castro and Osuna. The young live power arms out of the pen mid way through the season strategy has worked for the Cardinals for a while now.

Is Drabek in camp? I haven't heard anything about him as of yet. Has he been in any games?
