It’s the perfect compliment to Hughes. Then you have Mercer behind them who has shown he can generate his own offense and McLeod to grind it out (or take a shift against a top line here or there).

It really does, but it's still close enough that the team has to keep playing hard and at least try.
Chasing the long shot against Boston is infinitely better for these kids then another bottom 5 finish.

Playoffs would be a bonus. But if they end up 9th or 10th just due to how strong the East is, that alone would be huge for this teams progress.
Would mean they put together a solid winning record to end the year and something to build off of next year.
Vesey does have talent.
And Nico does play a defensive role.
So for all the poop Ruff takes for his lineups of late, that line did make sense.
I'd be shocked if the current playoff teams change. I'd be thrilled if we managed 90 pts this year. We'd need a 99 pt pace the rest of the way

Above their heads but both play a similar style to Nico. They had good chemistry all night.
All the more reason to figure out what to do with Zacha and keep him away from Nico.

Yeah I thought Vesey played really well for his first game back. Had a nice takeaway in the 1st or 2nd period that led to a good chance for Bastian. Definitely a lineup regular to me even when we’re fully healthy.
