Looks and feels like a reskin of D3... a game that was highly disappointing at launch and took years to get better.

Seems Rykker and other like it and if you watch the video he says it has a number of things that are better than D3 but also some stuff is limited like less skills available. it's free, I am sure in game purchases, and you can play say on public transportation on your way home from work/school and then go to your PC at home and continue playing from where you left off. I signed up for the beta, hard to beat free so I'll give it a shot.

I like Rykker. Have subscribed to his content for a long time. But this game just doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather pump more hours into D2R and wait for D4 to come out. I hope it is a good game for those who are excited about it.

I don’t think I’ll play though. 13gb on the phone and apparently another gachi system. I’ll wait and see.

Was not able to play yet this morning, will try again after work. I did notice when I logged into D3 I got a new set of wings and a new pet for downloading Immortal I think.

My barbarian is lvl 41 I like it so far, simpler to play I guess but so many options, which is of course how they will make money, to craft and use gems, runes, etc,

Gameplay looks fun in isolation but from what I gather from videos and streams it’s a casino game with a Diablo cover.

Not much of a diablo player but I tried it on my tablet and I'm having fun with it. Not something I'll be grinding for hours every day but I could use it as a dumb dose of action when I'm not feeling it with my other games or TV. I get that a freemium game like this is designed to tempt players to play a lot and spend to boost their progression, but I don't mind it as a back pocket experience.

I had a Blast as a free-to-play player until i got to level 60 Hell 1 and they told me I can't do dungeons anymore unless I'm in a party.

Ya the party no matter what for certain areas is annoying.

It's my only major gripe on the game. Diablo has been mainly a single player game you can play with friends. But this just feels like they are forcing you into parties.

On the pay to win aspect. You dont have to spend money if you don't want to, tho after you get so far in a day you really cant do much more until the next day. But, as someone who plays for an hour or two per day it doesn't really bother me much.

Another very minor gripe is controller lag on PC. (Tho turning off V-sync almost eliminates the lag).

Oh for sure. The game is fun. I'm level 41. It has been a fun game to play. But the monetization is the most predatory thing in F2P history. They are preying on people who can afford to spend $100k+ on a game and those who can't, but are addicted and will anyway.

And this is why Blizzard went with the monetization they did for this game. It supposedly has already surpassed $100M in sales. Diablo Immortal generates $100m in lifetime revenue

It's the second faster game after Pokemon Go to reach that figure.

That’s insane and I hope it doesn’t spell the future of gaming.

As one could logically expect it has become a game for whales and the recent results of who won the Immortal crown, a clan full of whales, shows it's become the only way to win.

First big content addition coming tomorrow. I am slowly losing interest as the server I play on, and I hear some others, have one clan basically running the show as they have a bunch of whales in the clan that give them an edge in the Rite of Exile etc.

Still far too many bugs for a game that has been out since June. And 2-3 classes are basically forming in the game with the whales spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars controlling everything over those that spend a little and those that spend nothing.

Seems to be the new business model of Blizzard: release a new game or mode, cash in and leave it to rot.
