I don't agree with A-ha being there. They've got ten studio albums to their credit (approaching thirty if you include compilations) and many albums charted in or near the top ten in Europe. The band faded in the US pretty quickly. No question the song and video for "Take on Me" is their most recognizable work.

A-ah also sang one of the James Bond theme songs.

The song everyone in Finland associated with Tampere Tappara because they've used it as their goal song since the 80's.

Couldn't find a clip of it but even non-Tappara fans who lived in the 80's can't escape thinking about the line (in Finnish): "Tappara goal scored by #8 Janne Ojanen, assisted by #7 Timo Jutila" when hearing that song. :DD

not even their biggest hit

gold was

This hit # 6 in the UK in late '86 and got a lot of air play on the Europe wide satellite cable channels that aired music videos (Sky Channel, Music Box):

I saw a documentary on them on Finnish tv and they felt this was their finest song.

I always think of How Bizarre by OMC. Rest in peace Pauly Fuemana. Definitely one of those "I hated it in HS but now because the music industry is a disaster I look back at it fondly" songs.

The Proclaimers 500 Miles. I don't know of any other hits they had.
