Buffalo will have an outdoor game every year. Whether it be the Winter Classic or not. Our owner has a football stadium in the same city.. And there'll be a classic or 2 if we get good.

Now that Pegula owns the Sabres and has effective control of Ralph Wilson Stadium, what's to stop him from having an outdoor game every year? Doesn't have to be an official Winter Classic or Stadium Series game organized by the league.

I guess it would need league approval, but why wouldn't the league approve it? It would be a guaranteed revenue producer.

Why not a combo NFL/NHL stadium downtown where Sabres games can be watched by 60,000 nightly and we can open the roof an on demand winter classic

Actually I think the tickets are something like $3.50 apiece (I looked into going a few years back).

Tix for the draft are free. Just got them for this past June's draft in Philly.

In fact, StubHub doesn't even let you list the tickets, as it was a free event. Not to say that people couldn't Craigslist them

I looked into that one too. IIRC it was free, but because Consol used tickets.com, they charged $3.50 for the Print-At-Home feature.

Id like to see some kind of donation attached to the draft tix, will anyone get upset if its a 5$ dollar ticket with 100% of the proceeds going to "insert Buffalo charity"? kind of like the viewing party at hsbc for the winter classic

get to open the draft with Gary and Terry announcing a $30,000 donation, convince the league to match the gate totals and make it a 50k donation and a good national publicity stunt, grab some positive press for the league

If the donation is mandatory, it's not a donation and probably not legal to characterize it as such. They often had food drives and such going during such events, they just have to advertise it up.
