Somewhere in Quebec.
Play/played with and against a bunch of CHLers, the best would have to be in no order:
- Chase DeLeo (Portaland WHL)
Kids hands are just unreal, and when he goes full gear, good luck catching him.
-Bo Horvat (London OHL)
Like DeLeo really fast if he gets full stride, and hurts like hell if he gets a good hit on you.
-Aaron Ekblad (Barrie OHL)
It's impossible to get by him, and I don't recommend blocking his shot.
-Spencer Martin (Steelheads OHL)
If he wasn't a goalie he could probably still play at least AA hockey.

Few others but I'll stick to them. But the very best players I've ever played against has to be Max Pacioretty last summer when he came to a local arena for shinny, and Vincent Damphouse at the rink last year too. Damphouse wasn't even trying and undressed everyone.
That's why I don't like you. :P

Grew up playing with a handful of NHLers:

Eric Lindros, Drake Berehowsky, Jason Dawe, Nathan LaFayette and a couple others.
I'm old! :)

Definitely Scotty Howes and his younger brother Andrew. I only ever played house league and these guys both played AAA. Since Moss Park was a free league and they were from the area and I'm assuming their friends all played there they also played (dominated). They did miss some games I'm assuming due to their AAA commitments.

There was one thing that I remember so clearly (before I was a goalie) Scotty took the puck in his own zone STORMED by everyone and at the centre ice line he decided "WTF" I'll just skate backwards the rest of the way.. no one caught him and while skating backwards he deked out the goalie and hit the peanut butter....

He was actually there a couple years ago helping to coach the tim bits for the day.

Hey, isn't it weird that on a hockey forum "deked" is interpreted as a spelling error?

Mikael Granlund was a difficult one to play against as a defender back in the days in junior league.

Teemu Pulkkinen`s slap shot was already superb when we once played against them in.... 2005 i think.

Only ball hockey but PA Parenteau.

Played with a guy on Team Canada(ball hockey)...amazing hands and he looks so lucky with the bounces he gets but when someone does that consistently, it's not luck.

About ten years ago a young Petr Sykora, coming off his 40 goal season, thought he could snipe me high, glove side on a 2 on 1. He was wrong. Skated up to me and tapped me on my pad and helmet and said "good save, keep up the good work."

From New York High School Hockey, played against joe diamond who i think now is doing well up in Maine NCAA hockey.

Played against this one kid who was NHL scouted for years but retired before making it.. He use to play for my high school then moved to play prep and college.

Some guys he graduated with were pretty filthy. Two guys went on to play college hockey or lacrosse but I believe if they cared enough they could have went pretty far.

Varsity Hockey in Long Island New York is pretty talented but diminishing sadly.

I'm 26, played double A most of my life as well as junior, played against some pretty damn good players, I forget most of their names but I'm sure some made it pretty far. My buddies little brother was on my summer league team, got drafted to the OHL pretty early and definitely has a shot at the pro's IMO. I played with/against Hawerchuk every day until he left town to coach in the CHL. I play golf with him too, good player. His son may go pro(golf). Hawerchuk was getting up there in age but man, you can tell he played in the NHL. Guy didn't really try and would light up goalies. I know it's just shinny but we have junior goalies/college goalies come out, they aren't bad goalies. I can never remember his name but I also play with a guy on occasion who played a little for the Wings, he must be in his mid 60's but the guy is unreal(given his age). I never played against a Stamkos or Tavares but I'm positive there's plenty of guys who made it and I cannot remember haha. I know it's not hockey but I played against Joey Votto, pretty damn good player.

He lit up NHL goalies, too. over five hundy in his career. That would have been awesome to play with that guy in shinny.

I skated twice with an ECHL player at an open game, the first time he came with his dad and younger brother, you could tell me was good but he was taking it easy on them (they were on my team). The second time out there were less people so I talked to him for a bit and he told me he played ECHL and he was training with MDZ and a couple other guys.
He was unreal, you could tell he wasn't really trying and he still was way faster and stronger than the rest of us. The one time he really got moving no one could even touch him and he absolutely undressed the goalie.

I used to play pond hockey with Connor McDavid, its been about 2 or 3 years, but even then he was unreal.

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=96391 This guy is a stud, played with him on our high school team, played against him in minors. Flipped me over the boards once. Best defensive/physical D I've played against, hardest slapshot. he was a like 6.1 190 at 14/15yrs old and looked like a full grown man

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=110977 Played against him many times, always dominated by smarts and hardwork. Both tried out for the same team in Midget AAA, one of us didnt make it though...haha! Best forward I've played against

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=110939 Played with him a few years in minor, hardest working guy/best grinder I've played with or against

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=115910 Best offensive D/Slapper specialist. This guy would rip in from the blue line top corner every game. Hip checks all the time too.

My friend from high school played goalie for a NY Islanders farm team, not sure which one. I've also played against several players on the RMU and Duquesne college teams.

I played a game of pick up roller a couple weeks ago, it was me, a guy who's never played hockey before, an average goalie, and another skater from a community college intramural team, against three players and the goalie from the Duquesne ice team...and we beat them fairly easily

Actually play in a team with Martin Hanzal's brother in the UK.

Also had a couple of guys for and against who have played in the OHL.

Other than that not so much played against but have played inside the St Petes/Tampa Bay Times Forum in some friendly as USA vs Sweden (was an American for a day!) and we had some of the Caps (who were playing that night) watch us including Ovi which was pretty surreal! Shame I'm stuck in third division UK hockey now!

Which Wightlink Raider might you be then?

I used to line Raiders games all the time, but now I only do EPL, I do miss a good old road trip to the island

Just your bog standard bench warmer who pops up and scores cup final winners then never play again. God I wish I wasn't an islander sometimes!

I think I've got a pretty good idea of who you might be, last season I couldn't understand why they kept you on the bench while Dan Murdy, probably the biggest wobbler I've ever seen at that level, was getting a regular shift

Why not play for Gosport? I hear they've even given fatty some shifts this season!

Speaking of fatty, here you are folks, the best player I've ever played against (#9 in orange)

I don't blame the linesman at all in this incident, I remember once escorting fatty to the box and he turned around to go after someone while I still had hold of his shirt and I was literally water skiing behind him trying to stop.
