:ducks = Jean Sebastian Giguere

:coyotes= Sean Burke

:bruins= Gerry Cheevers

:flames= Miikka Kiprusoff

:canes= Cam Ward

:hawks= Tony Esposito (I just can't quite change this to Belfour or Crawford, no matter how hard I try)

:avs = Patrick Roy

:cbj= Sergei Bobrowsky

:stars= Marty Turco (assuming we can't use North Star goalies, it stays Turco)

:wings= Chris Osgood (I want to put a better goalie like Hasek or Vernon ahead of him, as he's the ultimate compiler among goalies, but he also was a really good and underrated goalie in his own right, and has some amazing stats and a long career with Detroit)

:edmonton= Grant Fuhr

:panthers= I'll say it for you OP, John Vanbiesbrouck

:kings= Jonathan Quick

:wild= Niklas Bäckström (Dubnyk was closing in, but he's got work to do)

:habs= Patrick Roy

:nashville= Pekka Rinne

:devils= Martin Brodeur

:isles= Billy Smith

:rangers= Mike Richter (giving it to him because of his Cup win, and because of my 90's bias)

:sens= Patrick Lalime (I want so badly to say Damian Rhodes! Also realizing their goaltending history has not been great.)

:flyers= Ron Hextall

:pens= Marc Andre Fleury (edge over Barrasso, for me, but it's real close)

:sabres= Dominik Hasek
:sharks= Evgeny Nabokov

:blues= Mike Liut

:bolts= Nikolai Khabibulin

:leafs= Felix Potvin (The Cat)

:nucks= Kirk McLean

:caps= Olaf Kölzig

:jets= Bob Essensa (there is no way I'm not counting the old Jets goalies. The new team plays in the same city, under the same team name, and in the same league)

HM For Carolina and San Jose: Arturs Irbe. I really wanted him to be on this list somewhere, but everywhere he went he was just the 2nd best goalie in franchise history.

Also....no love for Rogie Vachon in LA? Yes, Quick has the rings, but Rogie was stellar for them for a long time.

I also cant fathom how people are putting Hextall over Parent in Philly.....

Ah! Parent! I went by Philly really quickly, and immediately thought "Hextall" as a gut reaction. Parent was the better goalie, though, definitely. Good call.

Osgood over Sawchuk? What's wrong with you people.

Edit - why are we randomly drawing the line at 1967???

Assuming "Since 1967" means the end of the 66-67 season. It appears both Jacques Plante and Johnny Bower put up better GAA and SV% numbers than Belfour, Cujo, or Potvin ever managed.

Murray is too new, but absolutely correct otherwise. Barrasso should be ahead of Fleury.
Yea I guess it is kind of early to pick Murray but Fleury’s playoff gaffes still anger me. Dude single handedly cost the Pens several playoff series.

Ottawa would most definitely be Anderson first.
Then Tugnutt/Rhodes as a tandem.
Then Lalime (he's just your typical stat compiler on a strong team)
Hasek could be there if he hadn't got hurt at the Olympics, bailed on the team and the lockout losing us a year.

IMO Rask is definitely the better goalie between him and Thomas. TT just had like the most insane peak ever.

Quick doesn't just have the rings. He's also smashed most of Rogie's franchise records. Before Quick, definitely Rogie though.

Bob Essensa for the Jets.

Just miserable goaltending, though. The Manitoba Moose by virtue of Cory Schneider have probably seen better goaltending than the Jets ever have. Hellebuyck has a chance to best Essensa.

Let's be honest the Minnesota North Stars weren't the hotbed for goaltending anytime in their history. All that being said Belfour had a good run in Dallas

Mike Smith, Sean Burke, and Nikolai Khabibulin over Ilya Bryzgalov, any day of the week. We mostly just remember as being a playoff choker at this point.

Not going to do a full list, probably fans from each team should do their own but Potvin would be 3rd behind Joseph and Belfour.
Thomas for Boston seems like a no brainer
Richter Vs The King is tough but one has a Cup
Beezer for Florida has a strong case
Joseph was probably better than Luit
Barroso for Pittsburgh?

I can't deny that it wasn't, but there are a couple guys I think could at least compete, when it comes to importance to a franchise. That said, Turco is probably the best of the bunch even still, though I hate to admit it.

Didn’t Kirk MacLean suck?

I thought he just got a hot streak before the playoffs in 94 and carried it through to the finals?
