Lol @ hockey players don't take near the head trauma football players do. Try playing check hockey. The game is faster, and just as physical. Hell, guys get concussed pretty frequently even in no-check hockey. Every time a couple players collide at speed, there's a risk of brain trauma/concussion. How many hits were there in some of those games during these playoffs? 100? Just because a guy isn't knocked out, or visibly had his bell rung, doesn't mean he isn't suffering head trauma. It isn't even hits to the head that necessarily cause concussions, or trauma to the brain. It's your head suddenly stopping, or changing directions that does it most of the time.

Scary stuff. Who knows how much is booze or CTE related. Either way, he needs some help and I hope he gets it.

Booze can turn people into a completely different person. Wouldn't surprise me at all. Especially if he drank "two bottles" as his wife said. He can barely walk at the end of that video.

Also, that's a hell of a door.

Oh shit, everyone forgot you're the only person that has ever played hockey AND you've played check hockey. Wow!

An underrated sport for CTE is soccer. Lots of concussions and turns out the repeated heading of the ball is not good for your brain.

Oh shit, everyone forgot you're the only person that has ever played hockey AND you've played check hockey. Wow!

You routinely make statements that show you're full of shit about having ever played any kind of competitive hockey. This being a perfect example. And don't you also claim to have coached, or currently coach? lol.

You could also talk to some folks that have played both sports at a high level, and let me know what they think about your take.

I'm sure it will shock you to know that ice hockey has the second highest concussion rate among youth sports.

  1. Rugby (4.18/1,000 AE)
  2. Ice hockey (1.20/1,000 AE)
  3. American football (0.53/1,000 AE)
  4. Lacrosse (0.24/1,000 AE)
  5. Football (or soccer) (0.23/1,000 AE)
  6. Wrestling (0.17/1,000 AE)
  7. Basketball (0.13/1,000 AE)
  8. Softball & Field Hockey (Tie) (0.10/1,000 AE)
  9. Baseball (0.06/1,000 AE)
  10. Cheerleading (0.07/1,000 AE)
  11. Volleyball (0.03/1,000 AE)
But yeah. Hockey players "don't have near the head trauma football players do" or something.

Veredejo murdered his mistress/gf because she wouldn't get an abortion and he was already married with a family ,, That has nothing to do with CTE. Even got an accomplice to help him dispose of body

It was a huge story in PR

How are hit and runs are CTE related? How is sex abuse and rape CTE related?

Again thanks for showing that CTE is being used as a excuse for everything

Also now do the NFL crime rate compared to hockey and boxing + general public?

Sub concussive hits in football

It's a thing in hockey too, just not to the same extent as football.

We are missing the point here though. Most of these guys aren't doing this shit because of CTE. They're doing it because it's who they are. Is it shocking that a violent sport like football attracts people that are prone to ...violence and aggression?? Come on. The same goes for sports like boxing and MMA.

Here's a different study for you

A new study published this week in the journal Pediatrics found that concussion rates in football games are on the rise. However, the rates of football practice concussions and recurrent concussion in all sports have declined.
The study included data on 9,542 concussions from 20 high school sports between the 2013-14 and 2017-18 school years. Among all sports, the overall concussion rate was 4.17 per 10,000 athlete exposures (AEs), according to the study. The top three sports were:
  1. Football: 10.4 concussions per 10,000 AEs.
  2. Girls soccer: 8.19 concussions per 10,000 AEs.
  3. Boys ice hockey: 7.69 concussions per 10,000 AEs.

Good to know you can differentiate between guys committing violent crimes because their brain is f***ed up and guys committing crimes for other reasons.

The crime rate among NFL players is less than that of the general population.

So you acknowledge crimes like getting drunk and attacking your wife and attempting to attack your father in law do happen

If this was Dave who works at factory chasing his wife down , threatening her , crashing his car , trying to force his way into FIL house and fighting cops while drunk would CTE be to blame?

Would a judge allow him to walk home without posting a bond and talk about how he is "Pillar of community" and "Good Father"? Would "Dave" have his charges downgraded despite the video , etc?

Nope

Thanks for proving my point for me. Your statement "hockey players don't have near the head trauma football players do" is f***ing nonsense.

I wonder when we can expect to see all those arrests happening in women's soccer....

Sub-concussive hits happen almost entirely with linemen... Yet most of the arrests you see in football....aren't linemen.

What a stupid f***ing argument.

Yes, overall crime rates among NFL players is lower than the general population. I would sure as f*** hope so, considering most of them are RICH and have no need to go out and rob people or steal...

You know what rates are higher in the NFL though? Weapons arrests. Sex offenses. Domestic Violence. Disorderly conduct. Assault.

When compared with U.S. men aged 21-34, NFL players were disproportionately arrested and charged with domestic violence, sex offenses, murder and weapons-related crimes. Those crimes accounted for a much larger portion of total arrests in the NFL, as the graphic below shows.

Weird.

sub concussive hits happen the most with lineman but running backs take sub concussive hits almost every play. Tight ends take a ton of subconcussive hits as do linebackers and safeties. Really its corners, wide receivers, and quarter backs that aren't taking sub concussive hits. Is there a database you have access to that shows arrest by position?

Also clearly hockey players don't nearly have the trauma, I just showed you the numbers.

10.4/10,000 is not close to 7.7/10,000? So you suck at math, too?

I'm done with this nonsensical argument. NFL players aren't getting arrested in shockingly high numbers because of head trauma. They're getting arrested for being assholes.

Wait, rich people have an advantage in court compared to middle-class/working-class people? You cracked the code!
