I don't care what players they bring in or let go. Absolutely nothing else matters as long as Bylsma is the coach.

Thats why I think the ideas of trading some big time players are rather premature.
Id like to see a new coach managing Malkin and maybe a different defensive coach working with Letang. No idea who would be a good defensive coach for him.

Its alot easier to switch coaches then it is to win trades that involve sending out big time players.

I like either Thomas Greiss or Anton Khudobin (preferably the latter) to back up Vokoun. Both are 27 year-old backups firmly entrenched behind fairly young quality starters. They're both UFA's a month from now, and Pittsburgh would be an attractive destination. Back up or 1a-1b with Vokoun for a year with a chance to start the following year if Vokoun falters, retires, or is not retained. Probably wouldn't be too terribly expensive either.

Clarkson would be such a key addition. I mean we've looked plain scared against the Bruins at times this series. A tough, productive top-6 forward would be change our identity.

Or somehow get Bobby Ryan :naughty:

clone Martin?

i think Beauchemin and Hamhuis are pretty Martin-like but those dudes aren't going anywhere. anyone else fit that profile? actually i'd rather see what a new coaching staff and a legitimate partner would do for Letang.

Maybe a silver lining to these playoffs is that Letang bumped his earning potential down a bit. If we can lock Letang up for less than $6M, I'd be a happy camper.

Trade Fleury for a stay at home tough Defensemen. If we keep Letang he needs a Ryan Suter type of partner. Who fits that mold?

So, we need an 8M dollar defensemen to cover for a guy who will command 6.5M+ and not play defense...

Letang just got a Norris nod. Worth more than that IMO.

Maybe Eberle and Yakupov for Letang, Sutter and Bennett.

Btw... As an outside fan the Pens need a goalie and shed some spare parts like Kunitz, Dupuis etc.

I still think it would be Letang for Eberle 1 for 1, Sutter needs to stay, same with BB although Yakupov-Malkin-Neal could be a sick line, then Eberle and Dupuis line.

The way Letang has played he might get Horcoff. Not to mention the odds of him signing an extension with the Oilers are slim to none so his value is that much lower when talking trade between the two.

I disagree. He's still a Norris nominated player. He would get us a big return.

Do you guys think Scuderi would take a longer deal at a cheaper AAV to return on a retirement contract? He would definitely be a huge help to our back end, and would be a stud in a defense first system if a new coach is brought in. (Such as Tippett)

4 years 10 million?

I realize he very well may get it on the open market, but $5M for Horton seems like way too much to me.

I like the idea of Khudobin, he could split next season with Vokoun and potentially take over the starting gig.

Bickell is going to cash in for more than $2M. i think Scuds gets more than 3M as well.

For bickell its likely, but for scuds his current contract is 3.4 and at his age im guessing he will have to take discount but there is 3 mil in cap should there be any shortage.

take a look at this thread. it would of course be nice to bring him back.

Wow didnt realise kings fans loved him so much. I thought by now his play would have dropped a bit. But after reading around a bit it seems that there may not be enough space for him after everyones healthy. A partner like him is what letang has been missing IMHO.
