Best part of tonight's game (absolutely miserable 8-2 loss) was Sommer accidentally naming Gregor a starter on defense instead of Gregoire, so Noah Gregor had to go out and skate half a shift at defense to start the game. Should've seen that as a bad omen.

Chmelevski back with a vengeance today. Goal, assist, 3 SOG, and hit a post early. He must've been doing some good things in practice, as he was on the 2nd PP unit the whole game. All good signs for him.

Good to hear the preseason struggles seem to have been really reset post injury for Chmelevski and he is back on track to where he is projected to be long term.

I'd have to guess he either needed some time off to regroup mentally, or he had a long term lingering issue that needed to properly heal before he was back at 100%.

4-3 loss to Bakerfield Friday, but Chmelevski is doing quite well since he's returned (stat-wise). 2 goals and an assist in 3 games.

Chmelevski was playing through the foot injury in October, which explains a lot of his struggles.

Barracuda lose 4-3 to Bakersfield tonight. It's the first game that made me start to feel like this isn't about kinks that need to be worked out- this year's team just doesn't seem like it's very good. The top forwards are too streaky, the defense feels like a step down from last year. Feels a lot like that 2017/18 team that had to go on that ridiculous run to make the playoffs at the end of the year.

He was not listed when they showed the healthy scratches on the Jumbotron last night and he didn’t play. Does anyone know his status?

That's happened once before this season (also with Chekhovich), and it didn't seem to mean anything. They also listed Roy as a scratch last night, but he played, so maybe they'd meant #82 instead of #81. It's a bit weird how lax they are about that stuff.
