He switched to figure skating and just plays hockey in his spare time.

What makes this goal good is that it wasn't just a between-the-legs for the sake of it, he needed to do it as he was protecting the puck with his leg. If he just did the same move without going through his legs he would have gotten the puck knocked off him.
