Talking about backups just makes me think again about how ill conceived the notion was of playing Schneid's 70 games.
I don't think it is the workload at all with Schneids. He looked better in the second game of the back to back and has played his best recently.
He had a uneven, at times shakey start to the season. The team has given him some unexpected goal support in some, and he stole a couple along the way (Tampa is an early example).
I think he is embracing the workload, is young and supposedly came into camp in best shape of his career.
I don't worry about fatigue, at all, considering what fatty did for two decades to define our franchise success.
But I think starting Scott Clemmensen in an NHL game is surefire surrendering of two points.
He is that terri-bad.
And since we missed the playoffs last season by 5 points and seem to be a middle of the pack team (despite being 1 point out of 1st place now, hilariously)...giving away any points seems suicidally stupid.
If Clemmer gets anything more than one chance to steal a game, I would riot.
And everyone here knows how supportive I am of the team, and am not at all a complainer.
But it would cripple my brain if Clemmer lost a start and wasn't immediately replaced by Kinky Boots.
And I would prefer not to tank even that game and bring up Kinky in advance of these back to backs, and let Clemmer ride buses the rest of the year collecting his gift of 500K.
