Regarding Redmond - as others have said, it's like Holden/Guenin last year. Bring them along slowly to learn the system and then give him an opportunity to seize a position. I think our man-to-man D system is quite an adjustment to what most people have played, so I anticipate it takes a little bit to learn, especially for someone relatively new at the NHL level.
On a side note, I do think that an eventual Hejda-Redmond pairing is probably a better 5 on 5 pair (at least in the D zone) than Holden-Barrie. I'd give them tons of D zone starts. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say Hejda was by far our best D man in our own zone for the first 2/3 of the season.
