25stanley @25stanley
Patrick Bordeleau just signed a 3 year contract with the #avs. I'm told it's around 1M$ per season.

From Dater:

The Avs tell me the deal is not official yet, but "close."

Yay?

A little bit rich, but I like him as a player. If we're going to have a mutant, he's a good choice.

I love Bordy but I'm not a fan of this deal. Is it a 2-way contract?

Agreed. Not to get into that whole Bordeleau argument again but I'm still hoping they try to improve the bottom six. Keep him around but don't play him every game.

There is not a chance he signed a 3 year, 2-way contract a month before hitting unrestricted free agency. Not a chance in hell.

Roy likes having an enforcer.

I really like Bordeleau, I have since probably his fifth game or so with the team. So this is excellent news if true.

time for me to snap up a jersey of his. plus i can keep my username for a while.

i'd peg him as a 13th forward for the team, but i'd like to see him in the lineup more often than not.

He seems well liked by his teammates (most enforcers are) and considering he worked his way from ECHL to NHL and is relatively young, I think he might have a little room to grow as a player. If he can play 6-7 minutes a night and finish his checks without taking a lot of stupid penalties, he's the best enforcer this team has had in ages.

Like this deal. Top notch enforcer that also has some game. He was actually one of the pleasant surprises from our dismal year last season.

Kind of weird considering we were all arguing about him yesterday, no?

I like the signing. I don't think guys his size, who can hit and skate well are that easy to find.

i'm ok with the deal , Bordeleau is not an AHL player anymore and 1M is mostly what the 4th lines players are making , give or take a few K .

TPS had a good point , I think Roy enjoy having an enforcer on his roster .
i'm pretty sure that Bordeleau will have a bit more icetime with Roy that he had with sacco .

**** yeah. So happy with this. This is going to be a great signing. I'd say pretty much right on par with what he should be getting. All the kids will have one of top enforcers watching over them for at least the next few years.

I like it.

Just remember everyone...for 1/3 of the cost a year and 75% of the term...he only had 4 points less than David Jones

In all seriousness I think he does pretty well in his role. He plays hard, is physical, and a decent skater. No he isnt going to put up 20g or anything, but he is a pretty darn good energy guy and someone that is feared around the NHL.

I know some people think that his role is pointless in today's NHL and you may have a point, that said, hes better than 99% of the enforcers the Avs have had.

A million is a bit rich, but I'm happy to have him on the team for 3 more years.
