That many PKs destroys your flow at 5 on5. Add on now Zajac, which jumbled the lines up, and it isn’t surprising they never really found their feet.

I don't disagree, but the Avs were all over us all night. We really couldn't get much going for long periods of time like we're used to seeing. I'm just giving some credit where it's due. We're a good team and Colorado threw our game right back in our face. Hopefully our guys learn from it and get better because of it. Cant win them all.

Well they were much better than us 5 on 5. Actually special teams kept us in the game, almost won it for us.

They were much more physical and aggressive than us from the start to the end. Better team tonight though we did hang in.

What I'm saying is that team cannot maintain that level of play for long. They were playing at 110% and we were making mistakes and taking needless penalties. Bad combination.

Except Landeskog undressed Green on their second goal (power play) where he skated around him and left him standing still to break in all alone from the right wing. Andy not being one with great foot speed at this point.

We took a physical beating tonight. Cheap shots included. But they seemed to want this game more than we did.

So it’s 5 games in and the level of compete is picking up. Pre-season’s over.

They had their heads up their own asses. Sloppy on the passes. Sloppy on their decision making. Way way too many penalties.

Shake it off and bounce back in Philly. Hopefully Zajac is ok.

That's where I'm at on this one, I can take this loss in stride because Avs played a real strong game and we were way too undisciplined. Those offensive zone penalties were unacceptable.

Hope this is a wake up call to clean up the bonehead stuff. I do agree that the matchups were not good and Hynes shares some blame for that but losing Zajac tossed a wrench in the works while Avs had us back on our heels.
