Torched by Landeskog is the major gaff I noted, he was mentally too slow to recognize & then literally to slow for GL.

The G.W.G. is not on Greene though, that's all on Noesen for tackling Greene.

Mojo has at least made a few plays, people just haven't finished for him. Noesen hasn't done anything except score an empty netter and tackle our own dman behind our net causing us to give up a goal.

I'm starting to notice more and more Vats biggest problem in my opinion. He thinks he is way better than he is. Don't get me wrong, he is one of if not the most important Dman on the team, but sometimes he glides around with the puck like he has the ability to deke any oncoming fore checker and it causes some nasty situations.

So oddly enough, if he stopped thinking he was way better than he is, he would be way better than he is....

Noesen certainly hasn't started off strong. I think he'll come around though. Maybe reuniting him with Coleman will help him out at some point.

Speaking of, I really like that Hynes is testing out Coleman at 2C in practice today. Unquestionably, he gets the puck to the net and makes things happen. Could be the missing piece to help Mojo going.

The team was ready to play. Totally flat.
It's a shame when our first line clicks scoring their first goal, except Kyle, along with many assists. The rest have a breakdown. Kinkaid was getting hammered. Colorado was a much better team last night.

That said we can't win them all. Would be nice but not happening.

Vats is our Leroy Jenkins. He's always going to play the way he plays with his hair on fire and as much as I hate it when he makes obviously horribad pinches leading to 2 on 1's the other way, it's his way and how he generates the offense we need as much as it hurts me to admit it. At least he's better at actually playing D when he commits to it compared to our last Dman that filled that role - Zidlicky.

Does he need to be paired with a stabilizing stay home Dman? Heck yes... or at least one that can recognize when he's going to run into the O-zone shouting his name

I don't think I'm overstating things, DD, that the Devils need to win tomorrow against Philly to get back on-track....plus, I don't think they'd want to have to stew over another loss(and a 2-game losing streak) for 4 days.
