100% wouldn’t go crazy at the deadline to upgrade the 2C either getting the roster back 100% would be a big upgrade in my opinion, two thirds of a second line has been missing for pretty much all or this year (Landy being out nuke and Lehky missing time)

Oh please. He's just as much tied to this as CMac, back when the Sakic was the GM and CMac was the AGM. Don't you forget how passive Sakic was in most deadlines?

They are a tandem, and should get praise and criticism as a tandem. This is just as much on Sakic as it is on CMac. Either Sakic approves CMacs passive approach, or doesn't want to do anything about it. Him being the POHO, should have the authority to can his ass should he want to.

It's true that the team probably needs help, and maybe this is their way of signalling that they do, but level of intensity after the break has been really really bad.

If that can't be fixed it doesn't matter who you bring in to help

I agree that they don’t need to go super crazy and trade a whole ton of stuff for a 2C, but they do need some sort of upgrade there. They can’t go for another Eller type and call it a day. Unless CMac makes a move for a young 2C for now and the future, then I won’t mind giving up someone like Byram

But that's going to happen anyways. We need to go for it now because of MacK's age. At 28, he's likely to start tapering off or even declining soon enough and it'll be much harder to replace him. We need to go for it. Windows are finite and ours is reaching its end IMO. Push hard and go for it this year and next and the next because after that, we'll be shit anyways.

No? They were literally a 1st round exit last year. What makes you think they'd suddenly go all the way this year.

There's no guarantees for those two. Landy is a big question mark. Nuke I believe will come back but who knows.

Well they didn’t have Landy last playoffs and I would say we had a troubled nuke for a part of it, not saying not to pick up a guy but with efforts like tonite it won’t matter who you bring in there going out in the first round again.

It's completely fair. Injuries are part of the sport, you don't seriously think they aren't going to have injuries this year as well? They had plenty of injuries on the Cup run as well.

Sakic never had this kind of core to work with, until his final TDL. And he got shit done. Cmac is in charge of trades now. We need GM with balls. I do hope Sakic can see the mistake he made and fires him soon, because this core is getting wasted by Cmac.

Sakic feels more like the owner than the Kronkes now. So I'm also not sure if anyone can even fire Sakic. The Kronkes couldn't give two shits about the Avs. They've always been in this for the Nuggets.

2C need is the big picture, they need one for a long run, but you can’t blame this loss on not having a 2C. If you took Kadri from the Flames for one day and put him in the lineup for this game, do the Avs win the game? No they don’t. Kadri would just go down with the ship because the whole team played really bad, and they have played badly this whole road trip other than the Rangers game
