Bednar was being little too critical of star players like MacK and Mikko, saying they weren’t very good but got better later in the game. I think he should be careful with those comments, specially with MacK who can be sensitive with comments like that and start tuning out Bednar. Last thing you want to do as a coach is make players tuning you out

They won't be bothered by those comments. I assume whatever Bednar says MacK is beating himself up with way worse stuff. He should probably see a sports psychology because he is a bit mental. It's good and bad.

Good players will always want more and more. He is just pushing them to do better.

RJ with a great game. He was moving his feet a lot more. I didn't like him much the first three games but he has been much better the last two. He is starting to produce on top of still winning a lot of important faceoffs. One thing I will add on RJ...he could actually have 2-3 more points. Every game he sets up Lehky with at least one grade A scoring chance with a great pass but Lehky just couldn't bury them.

Lehkonen had one of the most missed big chances in the NHL on the first couple games I think, so definitely true.

Lehkonen after 4 games: expected goals 3.8 goals but only scored once. Second best expected goals after Matthews. Not bad.

I watched RJ closely tonight at the game. He's definitely got veteran instincts and goes to the right spots. He just can't create or be an offensive force anymore. Still a very useful player and interesting how many faceoffs he manages to take.

Nah I don't buy that. Mikko has said this is how Bednar has been for years. They win a game and the guys in the locker room think job well done, the next day they will watch 2 hours of tape of mistakes they did. He wants perfection.

And I'm quite sure after we've seen MacKinnon giving it back to Bednar a few years back, then winning a championship, nothing can really sour that relationship.
