Why not switch Drouin with Mikko or Nuke? Give Mitte some help to get going with the new team, and put Trenin on 2nd line because he has more offense than Duhaime

Yeah. I really hate this philosophy of loading up the top line when they feel they're having depth problems.

So let me get this straight: We traded for almost 20 additional players at the deadline and our bottom 9 still looks like THIS?!? How is that even possible? Back to being a one-line-team i guess. Let's hope Nate has one of those magical nights or we lose even against a seller like Calgary.

Hilarious how we somehow went from wrist wringing about someone being kept out of the lineup to this. Granted not like Landeskog and Kovalenko were options in this timeframe.

It's hilarious to have Duhaime on the 2nd line with Kiviranta and Olofsson in the lineup 2 games after deadline.
We thought we were getting Duhaime and Trenin as depth guys...turns out LOC wasn't coming back, Landy probably won't either and Kovalenko is injured.
So yea, our deadline was about replacing players and not pure depth.

I didn't get to watch as much of the last game as I had liked. Was Walker not on the 2nd line with Girard like we thought he would? Or is he still just experimenting

Kovalenko going down the day after the trade deadline was just sheer bad luck but otherwise yea in hindsight this wasn’t about depth at all
He got more ice time than Manson, but Bednar always switches up the D pairings for the current situation. I don't think the projected lineups means that much.
Me either, and I fully believe Bednar thinks this form he fills out is a tool to mess with the other team.
