It absolutely is true.

That's like if I go and complain that Talbot was mixing it up with Pietrangelo. Why? Pietrangelo went after him too.

There's far too much talk of player x is "gutless" because he mixed it up with player y who is a skill player.

Skill players aren't wearing red no contact jerseys. They are allowed to be touched.

The best part of the "gutless" talk is Backes going after an 18 year old. I missed the part where 18 year olds are off limits. He's an NHL player FFS. Doesn't matter if he's 18 or 58

That should read: "during the last HALF of The 3rd."

They spent the whole last 10 minutes+ shorthanded. Reaves is not a penalty killer, and they didn't want to play him in the last 5 minutes, for fear the refs might give him a penalty for 3rd man in or starting a fight, and didn't want to lose him to a suspension. The game was lost in any case.

Haha Roy in his post game calling Backes gutless for going after an 18 year old. Pretty sure Roy is the last person to talk considering his history, including going after Boudreau in his first game. Whatever. I hope this continues to foster the rivalry with the Avs, and I hope they beat Chicago first round so we can show them who's boss.

I'm at work, and was listening, dont recall hearing his name mentioned much, so maybe he did play in the start of the third, I trust your recollection that he did. As far as him being on PK, once they put Bordeleau on the PP, then I think Reaves is fair game for the PK. The suspension part, is up for debate. I say take the chance. I doubt a ruling would come down before tomorrows game anyway, and if he sits out the remaining games of the reg season, so be it. On the Radio, Chase sure sounded like he was calling Reaves out for not doing anything. Again, hard to do anything from the bench.

ya idk why everyone so upset. i saw this coming when i went to the game thursday and they played mediocre at best. this is just what the team needs, a whooping on home ice with a game against our rival second round opponent tmrw.

only thing i would be concerned about is why hitch feels the need to play porter. i havent seen anything from him all year and yet he was on the top line today

He wanted a "mucker" to battle for the puck against the wall and in the corners to dig it out and feed it to Backes in front of the net. He didn't want to have ALL the potential goal scorers on the top line. He wanted to have at least one player reasonably capable of scoring on each of the top 3 lines. As it turned out, it didn't matter.

Hahahahaha Roy calling Backes gutless? Pot meet kettle. I'd like to ask good old Patty what he thinks of his kid then if Bakes is gutless. If they don't like people going after Mackinnon, maybe they should switch to soccer. Falco is totally right. This is a league for adults and grown men sometimes go after star players. That doesn't make Backes gutless. Sure he plays on the edge, but he's not one to back away it he gets challenged. Hardnosrd play isn't gutless Patrick. Matt Cooke throwing cheap shots and turtling, now THAT is gutless.

Just saw the Bordeleau hit on Shattenkirk. What a piece of ****, it makes it even more hilarious that Roy called Backes gutless when he has a plug that Bordeleau on his team.
