Now comes the time in the draft when I pick Sid Abel, C/LW as usual. For once, he won't be my captain, however.

Abel is just so useful here as a final piece of a 1st line or centerpiece of the second line. Nice "glue guy" skillset too.

Good decision. He looks great with Jean and Bernie.

They really need to add a “dislike” option for situations when some jerk just rips your guts out...

It's more powerful when you tell it with words.

Besides, I think the "like" option was a bad idea from the start. It's one step on the way to become the clusterf*** that Facebook smiley reactions have become.

They also need the “dislike” button when people miss sarcasm.

Almost went with Abel over Weber.

Abel at least as good of a skater as the guy who usually played with Beliveau-Geoffrion, no?

I mean, none of them are Howie Morenz of course - a Beliveau line is primarily a power line.

That's what I thought to myself.

Béliveau plays a "slow" game, even if I'm sure he could fly, a bit like Lemieux.

I just remember that he used a slur on Rocket, probably many times, so I'm not a fan. Rocket broke his nose, one of the many times it was broken, after one of those slurs.

Here he is "skating" - excellent player just was wondering about him and Bernie chugging up the ice, but i guess Beliveau can take care of that:

Duncan Keith was arguably the best defenseman available, but certainly not the last of any tier.

He would have possibly been my top pick, since he can play defensive guy on a rounded pairing or the puck mover on a shut down pair.
