Now how did you glean that from my posts?
What else am I supposed to understand from this?

Yes but the top offensive dmen are not always on the ice with Kucherov/MacKinnon, the way linemates are.
If the top offensive D aren't on the ice then the someone else must be. Would you rather have Tampa's bottom 4 D or Edmonton's bottom 4 D passing the puck to your star players?

Gaudreau overtakes MacKinnon and ties McDavid!

Kucherov: 65 points
Rantanen: 62 points
McDavid: 61 points
Gaudreau: 61 points
MacKinnon: 60 points

Kucherov 68 points in the first half :vhappy:

50 points in last 23 games atm, pointless in only 1 of those games.

I’ll lose my mind if he gets to 70 tonight.

Edit: My mistake, 50 not 52 in last 23 games.

The really scary thing? 68 points in the first half, and it took him about 15 games to wake up.

If he doesn't have a weaker second half like last year, he could have some of the most gaudy stats we've seen in a long time. . He's having an insane year. All of the crazier when you consider the year Rantanen and Mackinnon are having.

69 points in 40 games and 2 periods. Insane.

I don't think Kucherov is the best player in the league, but I do think he's the one most capable of insane hot streaks. He's had similar streaks before, for 20-30 games.

He’s the second best player in the league. Unbelievable run he’s on right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he topped 130.

If I had to call numbers right now:

Kucherov 132
McDavid 128
Rantanen 118
MacKinnon 116
Marner 109
Gaudreau 108

My guess

Mcdavid 127
Kucherov 123
Makinnon 115
Rantanen 112
Gadreau 108

I believe McDavid is on some sort of 2ppg stretch as well right now, he's involved in just about every Edmonton goal the past week, even though he's the only focus you still can't keep him off the score sheet.

Kucherov though is just maximizing everything from his own skillset and his teammates the guys scoring at will because of his insane hockey sense, he's not playing like an Energizer bunny he, like Tampa is this year is makong everyone play at his pace.

In his last 7 games, he has 21 points (3 times 4 points, 1 time 5 points)... And there is still a period left. That sequence is crazy, did he really ever do that to THAT level?

No. that's a first. 3 PPG over 7 games.

Also, he has 34 points in his last 15 games. He's never done that before either.

I've seen some beautiful passes that Point and Stamkos can't capitalize on. It's not easy to anticipate Kucherov's plays. Having said that, McDavid is on another level.

not really a surprise Kucherov is running away with it. Kings are one of the worst teams going up against the best and most stacked team in the league. they havent lost a game in months? crazy good team i dont think any team is stopping them this year.

Mcdavid needs to have those multi 4-5 point games to keep up the pace or he's toast, even if he keeps his current pace for the rest of the season that probably still wont even be enough against the offensive juggernaut that is the Tampa Bay lightning, they average like 6 goals a game! most teams only average 3 goals a game.
