So you wouldn't pay Dom Moore 2mill? You're nuts.

Also, Dorsett was fine with hitting/forechecking etc when he was here and i don't imagine he was horrible over there or they wouldn't have paid him that what they did.

There's a big difference between 2 mill and 2.6 mill.

I haven't paid much attention to him, but am I romanticizing Wisniewski? I remember him being good on the isles and MTL, now looking at his stats, they're eh.

Yeah he's what he's always been. A low hockey IQ defensemen that shoots or tries to shoot a lot.

The advanced stat community loves his corsi numbers, but if you look at the game, you'll see his faults.

The guy has a bomb for a shot, but healthy scratched in the playoffs with ANA and traded again. He's not a player you win with, that's why his playoff games played number is so low.

Makes a lot of mistakes, and takes bad penalties. ANA actually gave up a pretty good piece in Karlsson to get him and ended up with a guy that couldn't crack their top 6.

His corsi numbers are great because he'll swing his stick at anything, and gets some favorable zone starts.

What he does have is a good hard low shot that gets a lot of rebounds or tips. A heavy half snapper that gets through quickly.

Wisniewski has a bomb of a shot and there is some fairly decent accuracy. He can put up points and would add something to just about any team's power play.

OTOH he's not all that good defensively and he's an over the edge player with an extensive injury history. By over the edge I mean he has discipline issues. He's been suspended 5 times by the NHL. That's an awful lot. I think Matt Cooke is like 6 or 7 times. Coaches don't like players who have a tendency to lose self control. They lose team's games and you can never tell when that's going to happen. Ticking time bombs only it tends to self inflict on their own teams. It's one reason why Steve Downie has such a time finding a permanent home. It's probably why the Rangers just walked away from Carcillo.

....and as I said a very extensive injury history. He's a guy I would steer way clear of.

Kane just seems to have that arrogant...i can get away with anything, kinda aura.

Not saying he did anything or what not, just commenting on his general demeanor. At this point nothing would surprise me.

It’s a rebuild.
Earlier Thursday, Hamburg Police would not confirm for The News or ESPN whether an investigation of any kind is taking place. The NHL said Thursday that it is aware of Kane's circumstances, according to multiple media reports.

"I can't even confirm that there is an incident," Hamburg Police Chief Gregory G. Wickett told ESPN. "We're not confirming or denying that there is an investigation with Mr. Kane."

Those are some serious insinuations by the media based on the current state of these affairs.

Katie Strang posted this bull **** on ESPN.

I usually wait quite some time to villify pro athletes against rape charges. They walk a tightrope with some of the people they come in contact with, wording that carefully. '

I hope this isn't a Big Ben thing.

This is what happens when you're a big-time athlete who goes out, gets plastered, and scores with a whole lot of loose women. Sooner or later, something is going to go wrong.

We obviously don't know all the details yet, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if this was a case of them both being wasted and having sex. In our legal system, only women get the privilege of being "too drunk to consent." Men get no such courtesy.

I just seriously doubt that, after years and years of partying and having women throw themselves at him, Patrick Kane randomly decides to rape someone.

Now you know why professional athletes end up paying for sex.

This is a bad post, and I don't mean that to personally insult you at all, but your concept of rape is deeply flawed.

Do you think it's as farfetched as Bill Cosby who, after years and years of being so wealthy and famous, was exposed as a rapist?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if party boy Patty Kane had a fluid grasp on "consent." No reason to castigate the dude until the evidence comes out, but immediately thinking that this is a woman (a woman who immediately volunteered to get tested by a rape kit) trying to exploit poor Patrick is pretty crazy.

wow, if this is true Kane will play hockey in prison for the next 30 years. What an idiot.

So you honestly believe that rape only is done by men that doesn't get laid? My god.

My concept of rape is deeply flawed, ok buddy.

The waters are extremely muddy as to what consent is. The only thing that matters is female consent, at least that's what we're taught. Oh, and women can be "too drunk" to consent, so even if they consented, it doesn't count. How drunk is too drunk? Everything is stacked against men when it comes to these allegations.

In college, I had friends, both male and female, who would be acting drunk, but otherwise normal, wake up the following morning and not remember large chunks of the night. They were blackout drunk, but seemed cognizant at the time. If they had consented to sex within that time period, did they get raped? Things get extremely hazy.

A friend of mine nearly got kicked out of college for drunkenly making out with a girl, also drunk, because she later claimed he assaulted her (not even sexually, just claiming that she didn't consent to kissing). The only thing that kept him from getting screwed was a mutual friend who was there at the time who was literally in the same room watching a movie with them. Even with a witness, he still got put on probation and had to do volunteer hours around campus.

Listen, Kane could have raped this girl. Completely possible, maybe even probable. But, if I'm looking at just the information we know, its possible that the guy plowing through chicks in a drunken haze finally banged one that didn't remember consenting. Or, she really didn't consent.

And really, what the hell does Bill Cosby have to do with this? He got away with rape in a time before social media and the 24 hour news cycle. There's no way he would get away with that in today's culture, where everyone has a sounding board if they feel they've been wronged.

Because you implied Patty Kane couldn't be a rapist because women "throw themselves" at him.

Let's not comment on this until more evidence comes out. But don't discount the allegations just because you think the courts are weighed against men (ignoring the fact rich Patrick Kane probably has incredibly talented/powerful legal counsel)

I'm not even going to bother anymore. Keep distorting what I said. I really don't care.

I think he's a guy who is going to continue to move around a bit rather than be a long term fixture on any one team. The fact that he is a right-handed shot in a league where teams always seem to be looking to add one probably helps nudge him ahead of some left-handed defesemen who are just as good in the eyes of some GMs.

But the fact that he was scratched from every Anaheim playoff game is a huge warning sign, IMO. Carolina, desperate for depth on defense, traded a backup goalie for him so he'll get a chance to redeem himself.

A piece of **** is a piece of **** regardless of context.

Also you can flip that around and say he'd never take no for an answer after having it so easy because of his status.

The charges are criminal, not civil; she wouldn't get any money from this.
