Barzal plays like Krejci when Krejci has the high octane motor in overdrive mode. Skate, pass, read the play, space and shoot/pass. Krejci plays like that 20% of the time while Barzal plays like that 80% of the time. He would have been an amazing guy with Pasta IMO - 2, 100 pt players with that pace & skill. I don't see either of Philly or the Isles getting thru TB but I would like to see the Isles with a chance. They are the epitome of a blue collar hockey club in their style of play and it would be good to see the TB puckpursuit speed vs. the NYI puck protection styles play out in the ECF.

Flyers cap situation is ugly with their top contracts:

Giroux: $8,275,000 for 2 more years
Voracek: $8,250,000 for 4 more years
Hayes: $7,142,857 for 6 more years
van Riemsdyk: $7,000,000 for 3 more years

$30,667,857 for their top 4 forwards

Sweeney at it again.

Coyle much better than Hayes and got ~2M less per year and 1y less term.

Flyers have young talent coming in. Cap as big of a deal when your starting goalie makes under 800k

Oh dear. Islanders have dominated this game but haven't been able to put it away, not even with a PP at a perfect time. Now they're one lucky bounce away from dropping it and going to a G7. I fear for them if that happens.

Come on Isles, get this done in OT and let @Fenway go home!

Eberle miss could haunt them if they don’t close this game/series.

This.

Bruins Cap structure is set for at least two more years.

When your have the best 1st lines in NHL for less than 20M, you are golden.

No wonder Bruins are a top contender year after year.
When Couturier (and Giroux) is up for UFA, they'll already be committed to:

Voracek: $8,250,000
Hayes: $7,142,857
van Riemsdyk: $7,000,000
Konency: $5,500,000
Lindblom: $3,000,000

Provorov: $6,750,000
Gostisbehere: $4,500,000

And will have already had to pay:

Hart
Myers
Sanheim
Hagg
Laughton
Aube-Kubel

Wow, these carbon fiber sticks are going to need some work.

Very costly. Trotz is going to have a huge task getting his team back up for G7. The Flyers played a passable game at best and came away with the win, have momentum on their side, and you feel like they burned less energy in this game than the Islanders did. Will be interesting to see if Couturier becomes available too. Advantage Philly now.

Flyers have been horrible all playoffs and are in Game 7 of the 2nd round. That's what the #1 seed gets you.
