Would you turn down the job if the Habs offered to let you be an NHL assistant? I'm sure 99% of this board would take it even if they were only paying $60K a year.
Sure, I'd take $60k to run their power play into the ground. :D

It beats compiling this new EEO-1 report that has up to 3,360 data fields. :help:

Maybe the B’s think twice before seeing if he’s available to be a banner captain next year.

— wish it was a different team, but good for him.

Everybody's got to make a living , sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. How else could this make any sense ?
Knowing what we know about Savard, it probably wasn't what he had in mind, Going against what he believes the NHL should play. But it's a start for him in the NHL. I'm guessing the media gig was not what he had in mind. But... the dirty Blues... damn.

Yeah couldn't agree more. Maybe he see's it as his stepping stone to where he wants to go. To tell you the truth I didn't see him as a fit in the media role.

I for one am happy Savard has a job and do not care who he is employed by. He’s probably pals with berube. Good for him.

I know the blues just beat us but this isn’t exactly Johnny Damon going to the Yankees. I still really don’t care one way or another about the blues franchise. Those opposed to this need to get out of their feelings, it’s been at least a month at this point.

Exactly. He tried to get a job behind the Bruins bench but Cassidy didn’t have any room. I’d still love to see him back in Boston sometime.

I'm happy for Savvy. Am I the only one who doesn't have any disdain for the Blues? Sure, I wish we won one more game, but other than Bafoon, I have nothing but respect for their team.

For me its more than just the fact Savvy is working for the Blues.

If you follow him on Twitter, you would agree he was fapping all over the Laffs during the postseason. The job for the Blues is kind of just salt in the wound for me.

None the less, Im of course happy for him. He's still one of my favorite Bruins of all time. The guys vision on the ice was unreal. AND the poor guy went through hell with his concussions. Seems to be living a normal life again. Thats a beautiful thing. I'm just little salty :naughty:

EXACTLY and from what I remember about him and the Sobotka fiasco that cut down on my respect level for him too. So, in the end **** him!

Yeah, a lot of cognitive dissonance went through my head on that one. Loved him as a player so much, wished that didn't happen.

I understand why Marc accepted the job but I agree with those who say it is salt in the wound. The Blues twisting the dagger in my heart. I hope he does well and then leaves. It was hard to swallow the praising he did for the Leafs but he tried his best to let Bruins fans know he still was a Bruin at heart. Money talks...the end.

That's an intriguing perspective I'll never have.

2013 we lost to the better team. 2019 we lost to the inferior headhunters. Not going to be easy to forget this one.

I certainly will not respect them.

Well he was working for Sportsnet. Pretty sure fapping over the Leafs is in the job description.

I don't hate that the Blues won. I hate that Boston's best players were MIA for the most part during the playoffs. That's what ultimately sunk the team.

It's not like coaching jobs in the NHL are lifetime appointments. Berube will turn back into a pumpkin at some point, the Blues will revert to being a 1/2 step above mediocre, a new GM/Coach will come in and Savy will be available with some experience.

I don't want to get off topic or rehash old wounds, but that's not what happened. I agree some of our best players could have played better overall in the playoffs, specifically the first and second lines but that's not why we lost. They still got to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. I've watched that game 3 times. We were the better team. Some of the saves Binnington made were unbelievable. Even the ones that got through him somehow just died at the goal line (That Marchand shot through the 6th hole. Will never understand how that didn't go in.) Binnington, injuries (2 of the games we lost we played with a short bench all game) and puck luck are what sunk the Bruins.

Anyways, Glad to see Savy is relatively healthy and staying involved in the game. Hope he joins our staff one day. Great hockey mind

I hate that most of the Bruins team were injured and unable to put out their 100%. Which makes for a bad on-ice product when your best players are injured because of questionable hits from opposing players who have an intent to injure.

Would have liked to see Boston at their best playing St. Louis at their best. Not what we saw.

But I'm sure all this will be overcorrected once McDavid or Crosby get knocked out fo the game due to concussions and the NHL is forced to actually do something.

There is a difference between punishing physical play and trying to hurt your opponent to knock them out of a game/series.
