Did the GMs secret deal not to claim anyone this year because everyone is struggling to manage their budgets?

I think a couple of minor ones

Regarding waivers... Most of the players are either too expensive or not worth picking up. Also, a fair amount of them are being waived by BAD teams. That alone screams buyer beware.

EDIT: I expect the only non-goalie claims to be by rebuilding teams picking up potential reclamation projects or competing teams adding cheap labor.

EDIT: I expect the only non-goalie claims to be by rebuilding teams picking up potential reclamation projects or competing teams adding cheap labor.

I think a lot of it is just the teams know they can drop the cap and bank some money long term and with the way the league economy is they are probably happy if someone takes a 3 mil contract off their hand.
