Hate to say it, but I don’t think any team in the West will be able to beat the Golden Knights, and the only ones in the East who might really challenge them are the Lightning and Islanders (if they can stifle and frustrate their offense).
They are the clear favorites, just way too much depth

funny to watch NHLers with the same beer league self-preservation skills as me...Hughes makes a clean pass to Tyler Toffoli wide open in the slot, and as Hughes skates behind the net, he ducks under the crossbar so he doesn't get pasted if the shooter misses

TT sniped though, fortunately.
Yean, I mean it's not like that was Jarret Stoll shooting the puck.

According to this article, and the lack of what he wanted to see in the playoffs, Holland is thinking of moving out 2 of their top 4 defensemen, long article but with 2 prospects, Bouchard and Broberg possibly NHL ready, might make the decision easier.

Wowza! Edmonton Oilers will move out two out of their Top 4 d-men, NHL insider predicts | Edmonton Journal

I don't see Bear going anywhere, but could sed 2 of the others moved out.

GM Ken Holland will move out two of Edmonton’s top four d-men, Oscar Klefbom, Adam Larsson, Darnell Nurse and/or Ethan Bear.

Edmonton’s Top 4 defence truly was underwhelming in the playoffs, and that includes Bear, and this tepid display has kicked off all this trade talk, though it was always on the horizon with both Evan Bouchard and Philip Broberg in the system.

The Oilers are looking to win now/soon. I'm not sure we have anyone to offer who could help them do that while also being someone we'd be okay with letting go.

Up 3 -2 and the goalie lets in a few bad goals. Ugh. The Canucks gave this one away.

Yeah those were a couple of clunkers not keeping his pads sealed. I think he was just worn out on the back to back and not focused. Thomas Griess on the other hand, that could of been a back breaker.

He’s on the Trevor Lewis scoring plan. Remarkable that with the numbers Giroux has produced, he has never won any significant awards in his career.

Broh, das cause he was robbed of the Hart Trophy and had to carry the entire team on his back, like Kopitar, but with a team with far less scoring talent than the perennial offensive power house that was/is/are the LA Kings.

Bishop looked like he was playing his first game of the year. Gave up 4 in the 1st and looked like he was playing in slo-motion. Avs made 5-0 a minute later.

I swear the Avs did everything they could to lose this game with all the stupid penalties. Dallas really blew their chance on the failed 5 on 3. Don't be fooled by the 6-3 final score , it never felt like it was going to be enough.

Man, AZ gonna head back down to the basement.

31 Thoughts: Players make unified anti-racism statement from bubble - Sportsnet.ca

So much stuff wrong there. The testing, firing the guy that was involved, etc...and now this shit show

between that and the missing picks, they're likely to be screwed for a while. Maybe we can get Hjalmarsson on the cheap ;)

This. What a disgrace. And there will he $$ players moved out, because they need to cut costs.
OEL, Kuemper, Hall, and esp some of the older players, over 30 will need to be moved. And given the situation, should be better off forit.

Should the Arizona Coyotes roster be deconstructed?

Now, the team has no GM, no assistant coaches, no cap space, no high-value draft picks, and seemingly no real direction. So is it time for the organization to undergo a new rebuild that works to secure the long-term future of the team instead of focusing on another run at the playoffs next seaso
n?

At present, without taking LTIR into account, the Coyotes have just over $1 million in space and have six free agents to address this off-season - three of them with restricted rights and one being Taylor Hall.
This is largely due to Keller’s enormous pay rise, seeing him earn over $7 million a season until 2028.

Sucks to be a young player with this g0ing on, doesn't give you a whole lot of warm fuzzies for the future.

Rangers hire Martin as assistant, will run penalty kill, defense

Rangers hire Jacques Martin for coaching staff for defense and PK.

Great hire. JD is a smart hockey guy, always liked him. His fingerprints are all over ST Louis and Columbus and now he'll do the same for the Rangers.

Martin was a big part of the Pens cup runs, he is a good defensive coach which will be a great benefit for all the young guys on D on the team and the system.

Quinn said his conversations with Martin included a lot of discussion about the Rangers' young defensemen, including Tony DeAngelo 24; Adam Fox, 22; Ryan Lindgren, 22; Libor Hajek, 22; and K'Andre Miller, 20.

Rangers have drafted well and this is another step in their upward mobility in the division.
