If useless defencemen would stop hitting every player into their net/goalie then forwards would have to actually pretend to avoid them.
I agree in general and I'm usually saying the goalies get too much protection, but that wasn't the case here. McKegg was still untouched going full speed towards Rask two feet from the edge of the crease. The defenseman getting a price of him still wasn't enough to divert him away from the goalie. That's a penalty every time...except when the puck actually goes in, go figure.
