Not sure why the NHL would want to do anything to address having a non NHL goalie suit up and play in an NHL game.

The positive coverage David Ayers has given the NHL since his NHL debut is priceless.

The concern at the time was an employee of the Leafs going in goal against the Leafs in a game with playoff implications.

Though all of that ignores that any goalie that goes into an NHL game as an EBUG is not going to ruin that lifelong dream for 2 points in the standings. He's going to try his best.

Shane Wright - who is barely 16 years old, snipes his 36th goal of the season.

He's now 4 points behind Connor McDavid's 66 from his exceptional status season - in 11 fewer games.

Its like he was just traded - for 1 game.

Yeah, really. Like he is not going to do his best .

They are also talking about minimum performance standards. The 2 recent EBUGs have both been able to win their games. Ayres practiced with both Leafs and Marlies. Scott Foster had played NCAA, admittedly a long time before. He does play rec league, FWIW.

Do you think the Wild have the easiest road to the playoffs? 8 games this month against non playoff teams, including us.

Since firing Boudreau they have been clicking. Is it Evason, or just the realization that it's pretty much now or never for this group?

As long as they don't tank I don't care what they do. It just means they will never be that great a team to go up against.

Massive choke job by the Canucks tonight. Up 3-1 in the 3rd and gave up 4 goals.[/QUOT
Crucial result for Jets!
Vancouver will miss playoffs imo!
They are going to fade down the stretch. The 2 wildcard spots will be between us, Nashville and Minnesota. Like our chances after tonight.

They're 5-3-0 since Boudreau was fired. The Wild were actually playing pretty good hockey under Boudreau. Still playing pretty good hockey. It's their goaltending that's let them down.

Between the Pipes
In February, the Associated Press reported that CCM and Bauer have seen stick factories in China, where the epidemic erupted, close. CBC reports that a Bauer facility that creates custom sticks in Tongxiang City in Zhejiang province was first closed in late January.

Players typically go through 100 or more sticks per season (top players like Alex Ovechkin go through more). Estimates range from 1,600 sticks for a full team to 50k across the entire NHL. The only sticks affected are ones that are custom created.

AHL players and beer league players will not see any impact as the companies have backup stock in Canada and the United States.

***

So could they have to shutdown because of a stick shortage? I would image they would just go to everyone using a standard pattern.

I think the players will just have to deal with not having their custom made sticks for awhile and use ones that are off the shelf or raid their AHL affiliate's stocks. Half the teams won't be playing in a month, so that would decrease any demand as well.

Luv it.

Luv it. Their season will begin to spiral out of control!

Markstrom is out. Goaltending is a question mark, and you need good goaltending down the stretch. For the Jets even if Vancouver plummets, they have to keep pace with the Preds and Wild or they are on the outside. I think it comes down to Calgary and Vancouver for the final spot in the Pacific.
