I always wonder if the seconds are the most valuable thing when a team is trying to get a goalie out with under half a minute to go. I mean, Calgary gets the puck so Lack doesn't go for the bench. I'm not sure your probability of tying the game doesn't go up if you don't just hit the bench anyway, get the extra skater, and hope your D can win the puck. Rather than stay in net and then have half the time to score once you do get the goalie on the bench. It's only a few seconds lost, but that's a huge percentage of the total time left.
