Seriously, like what a regression in such short time....He came from being a playoff hero to a cap dump real quick.
So we traded Kruger for Martinook and swapped a 3rd for a 4th to save $500,000?
I guess that's fair as Martinook is better than Kruger.
What are they clearing the space for?So to go Canes get a player they might use (Martinook), save $500,000, and move down from 73rd to 96th on a pick. Seems fair enough.
EDIT: save a little less with the retention, so closer to $250K.
Never was really know as a point getter. Contract was bad from day 1, but if you have cap space there is a player still left IMOwhy tho[TBODY] [/TBODY]

I think it's less about clearing space than it is paying a guy $3 million to play in the AHL.
Martinook is a solid defensive winger. Kruger was out of the league. Not an earth shattering trade but pretty curious on the part of AZ.
