Honestly it was a toss up between him and Ehlers. I personally felt that Ehlers would've been a better choice, but Nylander probably is going to be able to come join the team far earlier and has fairly high potential. I mean I never thought Nylander was going to fall to us originally, so it's hard to dislike tus getting him.

I just hope they don't rush him and give him at least a full year down in the AHL or have him spend another year back in Sweden.

Someone asked me why I do not think Nylander is a puck hog in another thread. I did not reply....but last year at the U18 championship here is a video that clearly shows that he is not. What how smart he is and how well he tracks the puck. He played mostly on the wing in that tourney. I am excited about this pick, we all should be!

I'm very happy with the pick , he's gonna be a super star in blue & white. I've noticed a bit of a controversy over his height & weight, to clear it up he's 5'11.5" and 173 lbs at the draft .

I was surprised that he was still on the board. Thought Van would take him at #6 after he did so well at the under 18's.

At first blush I questioned whether he was the right pick but as time went by I started to realize that it was a no brainer.
