Speculation: Are NYR & CAR good trading partners?

Unless we trade one of Faulk or Pesce, there’s nothing McKeown can do for us that would be more impactful than replacing Derek Ryan with a legit center. We have an overstock of defensemen and no centers... at some point you have to give to get, and this is the one guy we can legitimately afford to move.

Call for Zib and a pick, but Rangers fans will rightly shoot that down for a moderate prospect like McKeown.

Yeah, Zib is a non-starter for McK. I also don't want to move Hayes. Can something around Sproul work? If yes, what do you/Canes fans suggest?

I wasn't clear....I'd not be asking the Rangers to add, I'm saying the Canes would add the pick/prospect. I just think McKeown would be a solid "component" if we were going after Zibanejad. I could see something like McKeown, Rask, and 2019 2nd for Zib and NYR 4th....or something like that.

Oh... in that case I agree, it probably makes sense from their point to look at a draft package including McKeown.

That’s beyond awful for the Rangers even if you make that 2nd a 1st
McKeown is not better than Deangelo or Pionk who have looked like potential top 4 dmen
Rask really isn’t good and at C we have
Zib (who can be moved to W)
Chytil
Hayes
Andersson
Howden
Namestnikov (can also be moved to W)
Don’t need a mediocre C that’ll block the young guys from getting a shot
