The Rangers have a ton of depth up the middle.. (Zibanejad, Hayes, Namestnikov, Spooner) with Andersson, Chytil and Howden on the cusp of breaking into the league.. While the canes need help up the middle and have a very good crop of defenseman. Not to forget Zuccarello is on the block, do the two teams line up well and if you were to make a move what would either side propose?

Spooner and names are wingers no?
Both have been used as centers in the past depending on linemates and stuff like that. Right now its vesey vladdy and zucc, and spooner takes draws situationally for the rangers but has been a center in the past and the organization has come out and said they view him as one

If that new owner is going to handle trades himself instead of letting a hockey guy like RF handle them, then YES we are good trading partners. Let's make a deal!

An old wing with no term for young top d locked up to long term friendly contracts?

That's gonna be a no from 100% of the fan base dawg
55-60 points on the wing with a full season isn’t as unattractive as you make it seem. Yet it would take more to get Pecse or Slavin I agree with that.

I think they're great trading parters if the Canes are willing to let go of futures.

Zucc for Carolina's 1st if its around the 13-15 range of the 1st is fair IMO.

Carolina would be seeking a bona fide 1C in a deal. Zib is closest but would be looking for better considering one of the top blue liners likely will have to be dealt.

The problem with guys like Patches and Zucc are two fold
1) They are only under contract for 1 year
2) They don't play the biggest position of need (center) for the Canes

Zucc adds another dimension in that we are already one of the smaller, softer teams in the league.

The Hurricanes don't need depth, almost their entire forward lineup is solid depth. They need top talent. Zucc may be of interest but it isn't going to be in a deal for Pesce, Slavin or Hanifin. If people want players like Hanifin, Slavin, etc then they are going to have to provide a top line talent young forward in return. Bottom line.

Pesce is probably worth more to Canes than he would fetch in a trade, he doesn't hold quite the value of Hanifin or Slavin

wouldn’t horrible asset management be trading a top prospect and futures for a 1C when Necas is almost ready and looks like a stud? Trading for a guy that can fill that gap and then shift down once the kid comes up and getting another top 6 guy in Zucc addresses the center issue (temporarily) and secondary scoring at a lesser price than if you were to fetch a true 1C

Or they could not give up assets for 1 year of a 30 year old Zucc, use Lindholm and/or Aho as a stop gap and go sign a winger in UFA? Zucc doesn't address the center issue, even temporarily, because the coach won't play him there.
