Since you love playing devil's advocate, what have they done specifically to earn your appreciation? Because all they have said publically is that they want to sell the team.

so if you cannot see, or even acknowledge a change in philosophy concerning the management of the Senators, since the Sisters took over control, then there is no point in debating you on this… as it is pretty much night and day between how their father operated, vs how they have.

To be fair you don't know what they have or have not done.

They appreciate your spelling abilities.

I bet you spent 2 minutes staring at this making sure there were no spelling mistakes in it. Well done, being the spell-check guy on the internet is time well spent.

again…do you NOT see any difference, in how the Franchise has been operated, since they took over, vs when their father was owner?

How often have we heard, in the media, the “Summer of Pierre” ?

Its obvious to everyone else.

It's pretty simple. While he was alive he was saving as much as he could so in the event of his death the team moving forward could be put in a position to appear stable to potential buyers. It has nothing to do with them because they are not business people in the slightest. The league and the management are doing everything moving this team forward. The girls have lawyers and people around them who have their best interests at heart and there is no doubt Dohrion is keeping things manageable since his death. When he died they re-signed everyone which is a no brainer. They went out and got Debrincat. They have been managing time in hopes a new owner come in and see's the great work that they've done. Can you not understand the mindset of a guy trying to secure the future for his kids after his death? It was after his surgery that he became more stingy in a way he had never been and made the rebuild happen out of necessity.. People thought he should have been grateful to have a new lease on life. It was only a band aid. FYOUS has never worked for any team ever in such a short period of time during a rebuild. It was just a marketing ploy to keep people interested just like Murray's "retool" or "go all in for Alfie".

We all knew this team wasn't as financially as bad as Melnyk was making it out to be but some believed it. The fact that after his death Dohrion was able to be free to make the moves he wanted all coincided with a few months later rumors of the Sens being on the market for a sale.

remember the NHL and all of the teams and players work together to make money this includes the media. After years of all of the negativity surrounding this team showing the world that everything is back on track and positive with a bunch of fluff pieces about how well the team is now only makes it that much more appealing for potential buyers.

That’s certainly one way to look at things. Not really sure anyone ‘bought into’ FYOUS, at best people needed to see it to believe it from him, or that any of that was needed for the team to be worth 1b for his girls.

Another way to look at it would be that things were pretty much as they seemed.

We’ll never know, now that he’s gone, unless he wrote a tell-all book of course.

We all knew this, we just didn’t appreciate being lied to and treated like shit because some man had family goals.

I also want to secure my families future but I’m not going to be an asshole to do it because you don’t need to be.

Letting the team spend their money to improve is enough for most people to be appreciative.

No one is suggesting any kind of award….
Is the team getting 1 billion dollar offers right now if they pinched pennies and attendance remained in the toilet? Honestly, idk how much of the current positive outlook comes from them spending, and how much that increased the teams value. You might just be appreciating them doing what was needed to line their own pockets. Win, win I guess...

Well, I suspect that every move an owner makes is with an eye on lining their own pockets in some way. But you’re right, perhaps the appreciation is simply that their pocket lining matches my entertainment requirements.

Maybe I simply appreciate the change from father to daughters in terms of behaviour.

Maybe I’m just to free with appreciation, or the use of the word.

Ryan Reynolds is out for a stupid reason, never trust a Melnyck

can you please connect these “dots”…. as there is no evidence the Melnyks had anything to do with the RR group pulling the plug.

If there is any blame to go around, I would the suggest the RR group trying to go around the process and set up an exclusive negotiating window with the NCC to get a leg up on the competing bids…. And it blew up in their face.

So you can’t explain why something the Sisters did ( your claim ) chased the. RR away…. Figured as much.

They hired a stupid disorganized bank to tneder their bids and the leading and most wanted owner got fed up and left.

Reynolds was only asking for what their Dad had (and screwed up like everyhting he touched for the Senators) and now finally Ottasa has a bright light and of course, the Melnyck’s find a way to screw that up too.

Melnyck’s are a curse on this city’s hockey team. Worst thing to ever happen to the Ottawa Senators

please cite your source to back your claim that GSP is a “stupid disorganized bank”.

then, please explain why someone, who now is trying to sell their Franchise, would sabotage that process ?

please explain how when Eugene Melnyk was the ONLY potential owner for the Ottawa Senators, that pledged to keep the Franchise in Ottawa…. Is the same as multiple bidders who have all pledged to keep the franchise in Ottawa.

“The worse thing to have ever happen to the Ottawa Senators” would have been what would have happened if Eugene Melnyk had NOT bought and saved the Senators.

none of your post, is rooted in any interpretation of logic.

look, it’s obvious to everyone on this site, anyone with the gift of sight, to see the you have an overwhelming obsessive uncontrollable hatred for Eugene Melnyk, the owner who saved the Senators from being relocated or collapsed by the NHL….. and you spin everything negative you can relate to the Senators, to blame him and now his daughters.

Just by virtue of your refusal to spell Melnyk properly, shows just how Eugene, and now his daughters, have been living rent free in your head for decades….. I would recommend you seek help.

I think the difference is I read a lot about the Senators and you wait for the info to hit your ears. If you don’t know about the delays and changing goalposts with the bank which have been apparent since December then I don’t think you’re playing close enough attention to comment on the ownership bids

Lol why should RR group get preferential treatment over other bids. All the other bids would like the same, that’s why it was turned down, not some over the top speculation with zero credibility.
