A lot of misinformation here.

First the Ottawa metro economy is not the same as the Canadian economy. We're sort of sheltered here due to the public service being a huge portion of our workforce.

Yes, the price of houses has increased significantly but anyone that was in the market pre-COVID is still in good shape. The price increase also created a lot of wealth for some people. Wealth that can be used for season tickets.

Very few people would be paying 6-7% on a mortgage. It would be people who just recently got mortgages and decided to go with variable instead of fixed rates or who have bad credit.

Salaries are not the same. Public servants have seen rather large raises with the new collective agreements that have gone through in the last year.

Canadian teams are not spending 30% more. They have expenses in US $, namely player salaries but that doesn't mean they're spending more. They're paying the market rate.
A lot of GC stategies related contracts going to kill the economy in ottawa next year

Congrats for their generosity.
Mrs. Andlauer is very attractive.
She looks like a million dollars.

Andlauer and the rest of the ownership group have only officially owned the Senators franchise for about 7 plus months, and now are receiving a $200 Million windfall from the Arizona relocation(SLC) fee.

They're not receiving 200 million .. it's 200 million ➗️ 31 teams

They aren't getting $200M. Stop spreading fake news old man.
I think the way it was done is 1 billion for the team, 200 as a brokerage fee to the NHL which will get divided among the teams, then there's a provision to see the previous owner an expansion team for 1 billion if they can get an arena in 5 years,

So if everything goes as planned, they could get ~40 mil with about 6.5 of it coming right away.

He’s moving into his new home soon. He bought the most expensive private home in Ottawa. It sold for 5million and he is adding over a million for an extension. Crazy

Luke Richardson's old house on Grandview is going for $7M. Couple buddies live just down the road from it. Also Garry Galley's in that area for just under $5M. Both gorgeous homes on the water. He should have chosen one of those. :D

Exactly! He bought the Morley Hopner home. It only has 2 bedrooms so he is adding a massive addition to include another bedroom
Damn, that's a gorgeous house! Good for Mr. Andlauer

Hard to believe there's any way to put an addition on that home. Going to extend out further towards Dows Lake?
Maybe he has inside information that dow's lake will be the location of the new rink? :D

Not sure relocation fee, is split up 31 ways, was that done for Atlanta to Winnipeg. ?

Don’t believe the billion is split this time, if Arizona gets an expansion team , then yes, but not for being sold.

My guess is within 7 years the owners will be dividing up 5-6B from expansion.

Houston
Atlanta
Phoenix or Portland
Potentially Southwest Ontario/Hartford/KC
