Still think Perron's a good player, but he was an obvious bad fit here. Clendening is whatever, **** it.

Hope Hagelin works out.

I like Hagelin. Guy can fly.

Would have liked to see a little more of Adam Clendening before we wrote him off, but it is what it is.

I have to believe org thought Hagelin would be a better fit here than Perron. As for Clendening i'm happier with Daley instead.

Hagelin did get 17g18p +18 with the Rags in 2014-2015 before sucking with the Ducks. I like this deal so far, just don't know much about Hagelin except he's a LW!

Well, look. It's the same as the Daley deal. We get a better player who probably isn't exactly worth the cap dollars we've allocated to him.

He actually averages more even strength goals than Perron and that's even if you exclude the fact that Perron flatlined in the last 11 months.

Bad trade imo.

Dont see how we couldnt get perron for hagelin straight up. One could argue hagelin is worth less, because hes signed to a somewhat iffy contract longer term. Could as well have signed perron for the hagelin money then.

Not that Clendening would ever get a chance here, still strange we added.

On paper it's basically a lateral move for the time being but if it winds up being a better fit it's a win considering Hagelin will still be under contract. If Hagelin isn't a good fit, well, it's still a lateral move.

Hagelin has what, 3 more years left at $4 million? This deal makes no sense from a cap perspective.

He's a good two way player, at least he was until his offense disappeared this year when he was traded to Anaheim.

Sullivan has history with him, and Hagelin has lots of speed. Could be a good fit for Sid.

I am confused. I've always been a big Hagelin fan, but I can't see him working with Geno at all, and I don't see Kunitz moving down.

I'm just happy we traded a UFA-to be for something of value instead of letting him walk.

Best offensive depth in years.

JR has made the trades this team
needs.

Shero put us in this position.

Where do we make excuses after this?

Such a perfect encapsulation of JR as a GM. Terrible contract. Terribly overpaid player. GM JR is a ****ing
joke and anyone denying that is ****ing kidding themselves.

Hagelin-Crosby-Kessel would be fun to watch. Too bad it'll never happen.

seems like he has been struggling with Ducks

He's not the only one though... Maybe getting a LW that relatively sucked for half a season will produce the opposite effect on him than say, a Perron who didn't suck beffore coming here.

If Hagelin fits (can we get a break here?) i can see a similar or slightly less ppg avg than he had with the Rags in 2014-15.

Hagelins value is up in the air. He sure hasnt played like a 4m player since leaving NY. And if he doesnt pick it up we are stuck with that salary for years. 4m for a PK specialist/bottom 6er is pretty damn expansive.

At least with Perron we werent stuck with him for years.

I don't know. Maybe now that Sullivan has another LW with speed, he'll finally try it.

I think Kunitz is cooked, but he does still have his legs. I think that's why he's been with Crosby - speed on the forecheck. With Kessel still slumping, maybe Sullivan will move him around to get him going.

History? When?

Good point on the speed factor, we just traded a tractor for him. That should help Sully's system.
