At 10 Ritchie was lower than projected and unfortunately Ehlers went a spot ahead. He was not a wasted pick, he was a very good one at that time. Even one year after it looked solid.

Unfortunately 2014 looks like a hit and miss draft in the first round, now I do recall reading at the time Dylan Larkin was a player that we were looking at, so yeah that hurts a bit. Obviously if people thought Pastrnak would turn into a superstar he would have been picked alot higher

Heinen looks a better fit for the team then Ritchie so far, he's looked quite solid, granted small sample size.

Typical nice (subtle) play by Heinen on the 3rd ANA goal. Pokes the puck away from the COL player along the boards to Getzlaf, who sets up Steel.

He’s not flashy, but will do all the little things right.

Heinie's assist on that play has been taken away
