I know you guys probably don't care, but I'm having an issue: If you had to start two of these guys today, who would it be?

Strasburg vs Miami
Cole vs. Boston
Quintana vs. Detroit
Keuchel vs. Seattle

I'm thinking Stras & one of Cole or Quintana.

I'd personally go Stras and Quintana

If my memory from a week ago serves, the post-upton fangraphs depth charts projection has us i think 0.2war higher without upton.

If they have a bit more playing time going to Pearce, that makes sense.

Not sure how AP managed to get it that wrong, but the Jays have 18 players on the opening day roster who are making more than league minimum, and those 18 have a combined $155 million. Add Upton and the pre-arb guys and it's right around $160.

WAR went up a lot more than that...

With Upton:
1B: 1.1 WAR - Ranked 24th
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2017-positional-power-rankings-first-base/
LF: 0.6 WAR - Ranked 23rd
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2017-positional-power-rankings-left-field/
Batting: 23.5 WAR - Ranked 5th
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2017-positional-power-rankings-summary/
Overall: 40.2 WAR - Ranked 8th

UPDATED

Without Upton:
1B: 0.8 WAR - Ranked 27th
http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=1B
LF: 1.9 WAR - Ranked 8th
http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=LF
Batting: 24.1 WAR - Ranked 4th
http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Team
Overall: 40.6 WAR - Ranked 8th
http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Team

Pitching took a bit of dip but not why we would think. Lost -0.2 from Barnes and Smith not from the Osuna injury.

Who would have known Upton was such a drag on the projection system. I like and hate the end results but i guess i like it more.

I hate that we risk playing Pearce more in LF risking injury and now Smoak is likely the undisputed starter at 1B.

I like that Pearce's bat gets in the lineup more, there is a clear path for Pompey and that there is more playing time Smoak so it shows us sooner that he is nothing more than a bench bat. Ideally shifting Pearce to 1B and Pompey to LF. Could work out very well in the end in terms of the lineup.

Bullpen needs someone rising from the farm or another trade like last year in Grilli and Benoit. Maybe try to make another play for Robertson.

TheScore app just told me that Jose and Donaldson are both out of the lineup. But since I can't find a lineup anywhere, let's just hope that an intern screwed up an alert

Has anybody seen the lineup yet?

I'm updating my fantasy rosters and Yahoo is telling me Travis, Bautista and Tulo aren't playing.

I'm assuming it's Yahoo's issue. I've been listening to Blair all morning and nothing has been said about anybody being out of the lineup today.

Bautista would make sense since his brother's wedding was this weekend or his back problems...

Maybe Donaldson slipping out of the box in Montreal strained his calf again.

Would mean Carrera in RF... Barney at 3B. Gross

Bautista's back problems might be a reason, but there is no way he is missing opening day for his brother's wedding, which was on the weekend and is now over.

Man, sometimes Twitter is hilarious. I was scrolling through Mike Wilner's feed to see if there was anything about today's lineup and somebody tweeted him about being surprised by all the "scheduled double headers" for the Blue Jays.

Wilner responds with: Jays have zero scheduled double headers and neither does any other team.

Not that it changes the point at all, but the Rays have one this year.

It depends on who you follow, I used to be on Twitter, but I stopped because it was too negative and many times wrong information.
