God I did not mean to start another Bryzgalov argument.

Seriously what is the problem? Bryz is russian last I checked and the subject matter is about how they can be mercurial ....like Zherdev was. It's pertinent to the discussion..

People are way too sensitive about former Flyers at times...

I wonder who for, probably numerous.

Ehrhoff maybe... I would be happy if the flyers could wangle him... but the cost will probably be extortionate. Solid D and 40 points... Kimmo replacement right there. And his caphit is pretty beautiful for what he is.

I thought this would be a good idea until I realized he's signed until Buck Rogers birthday.

Yeh, but he will 'only' be 38 at the end of the deal, I imagine he is still playing until around then bar injury, and so long as he is still a 3-4 by then that hit is fine... and the last 3 years are 1mill each... pretty much cap circumvention frankly!

Ehrhoff will probably get them a first in return around the deadline, I don't think the Flyers will be willing to pay that price.

Yeh, maybe even more... I reckon he is one of the more underrated/overlooked D men in the NHL, PKs, great PP QB... 5 straight years of ~40-50 points and is pretty damn good defensively, plays 23+ mins a night regularly, does not miss many games. (32 in 7 and a quarter years... so ~4 a year)

He seemingly gets pinned with the 'PP offensive specialist tag' but he is good on D...

In my mind he is a 1b... in that group of 15-20 guys after the top 10.

I would be seriously conflicted on how much I would give for him, he would be a medium term (5 year) plug as a #1, enough time to get Morin, Hagg, Ghost to full speed in the league, who could help the team compete in the meantime.

What's the spread like in the press boxes? They can't keep Mellanby away.

Now they also have their head east scout there, well at least one of them. I would love to be a fly on the wall during conversations between Homer and Bergevin.

Also wonder if we have scouts up there, haven't heard anything from our side.

Ehrhoff would have been a perfect acquisition if we didn't sign Streit. Not that I think Streit has been that bad but his cap hit is a little high and he's not as good as Ehrhoff.

If would have had our d looking that this season would be in good shape. Even if Timonen retires after this year we would have a little more money to sign a replacement or let someone younger step up.

Coburn - Timonen
Grossmann - Ehrhoff
Schenn - Gustafsson

I think it makes Ehhroff a little less attractive with Streit being here however. Having another older player signed for the next several years doesn't sound so hot.

What do you guys think about something around Jeff Skinner and Jiri Tlusty for Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds?

Ehrhoff has a great contract for any team that trades for him. He can retire early and the only team that would be penalized is Buffalo.

Wonder what a combo of Hartnell and schenn would get us? Given that we would really like to keep downie and Laughton is a lock for next year we need fwd spots open and we need better D.

Not a lot right now. You're better off keeping them than trading them for pennies on the dollar.
