Being a great home team has got to be a sweet bonus for the fans going to games. It’s so much better paying for tickets to watch your team unexpectedly win!

Though last night was a tough watch for sure.... Shake off that turkey!!!

I'm glad the team is providing wins to the fans during this time of year — attendance will obviously be higher when people have time off and are giving gifts, and it's nice to see that they're putting forth an entertaining product.

Don't see it mattering much in the dog days of February, though.

anyone who has seen my other thread, knows my anger at them..but my support is unwavering.
Fans have got to start packing that arena..1) to uplift the spirit of the team 2) to not sink them financially...with sufficient revenue will come easier operating.

If you are remotely a fan, and even if your anger is at my level...go support..We cannot control being near the bottom in the standing, we don't play...we can control being near the top in spirit.

No thanks, Melnyk is never getting another penny from me, simple as that. He’s proven that he won’t invest in the team so why should I give him any of my money so he can just go gamble with it?

Speaking of the gambling man, next Monday we find out what happens with the casino court case. He may require another $1m for that gamble.


I still think we will see some kind of organizational change made soon to win back the fans hurt by the evil EM empire. Just speculation, of course.

Previous actions over many years? A team that's never had a roster without significant holes due to lack of budget, basically ever.

"We will spend when the time is right" lol.

Looks at every hire ever in the last 10 years being cheap, or lack thereof altogether.

Downgraded roster coming off conference finals.

There is no, "right time" for this team. Thats fine but live in your reality, dont set false expectations.

If you want to buy in to it sure, go ahead, but I'd say they shouldn't be given that benefit of the doubt after so many years that the hockey operation is the priority in Ottawa and that an increase in attendance would lead to an increased investment in the team. Some of Melnyk's previous comments don't give me much faith he will ever change his philosophy on pay scale in relation to employee performance, so I can't see the money being invested in qualified coaching or hockey ops people either.

Just my thoughts on the airwaves though, not here to convince anyone otherwise.

You know he increased payroll for 2017-18 right. How did the roster get downgraded other than losing Methot and the 45 games he played since leaving Ottawa.
I want to reiterate that payroll increased even though his org was a national laughing stock that we didn’t sell out in the conference finals.

if you do not support, then revenue dwindles. As it does, it will be removed from the teams budget.. As the team moves closer to the CAP floor, how do you rebuild?
I have read a ton of posts on here...a few hundred are on the drafts picks coming, how do you do so with a skeleton scouting staff??

Anyone who presumes me to be an apologist for the club..please take a moment to read my thread...It is ironic, I am being killed on that site for condemning the club and being killed on here for supporting it!!!
