Ok is causeway crowd any better a source for the Erik Johnson rumor or are there no legs to it? Anybody else with their ear to the ground think there is any credibility to it? A top 4 defenseman would make a lot of sense for the Bruins but availability is probably pretty low. Although for teams with a cap crunch, it may make sense especially since his contract expires after this year.

I don't know, doesn't seem too preposterous but for whom? Obviously The Don isn't going to blow his last $4+ million without sending money out and if that's the case they'll also have to be giving up a roster player or at least a top prospect and/or a draft pick.
Anyone know anything about Johnson, seems pretty solid from the limited info I've seen.
The other question is this, why would the Avs want to trade him?

These guys are just tossing around trade proposals like we do on here. I have absolutely no faith in these sites having actual sources for real rumors.

erik johnson's a hell of a hockey player but he's making under 4 million this year and he's an ufa next season and therefore due for quite a raise in today's market. for a short term fix, that's a good suggestion though.

I know that his salary is $4 250 000 with a cap hit of $3 750 000.

Have to give credit to Sweeney, a genius plan.

Stamkos is at the perfect age to sign to a longterm huge contract, 26y when the contract kicks in and 32y on his final year.
